Bernie Sanders Trumpets Iowa Paper’s Praise. Unsaid? It Endorsed Hillary Clinton

Seems dishonesty and deceptions are what the Sanders camp is up to this last week.

Bernie Sanders Trumpets Iowa Paper’s Praise. Unsaid? It Endorsed Hillary Clinton

The Des Moines Register has not endorsed Senator Bernie Sanders, but a new ad from his campaign that started running on Thursday in Iowa may lead viewers to think that it did.

The ad trumpets the endorsements Mr. Sanders has received: “From postal workers to nurses, he’s been endorsed for real change,” a female narrator says.
..................................

But sandwiched between The Nation’s endorsement and one from the The Daily Nonpareil, the local newspaper in Council Bluffs, Iowa, is a quotation from the state’s largest newspaper. “The Des Moines Register calls him ‘a man of courage and principle,’” the narrator says.

That praise did not come in an endorsement of Mr. Sanders, however. It came in The Register’s editorial endorsing Mr. Sanders’s rival, Hillary Clinton.

The editorial did shower Mr. Sanders with praise, but it came down in favor of Mrs. Clinton’s candidacy – which even careful viewers would have no way of knowing.

Is the implication that "man of courage and principle" was a lie?

Presumably, not all readers of every editorial will agree with every bit of its content.

Even though Sanders was the better candidate, they endorsed Hillary. It happens. I'm glad we can clear it up.

between:

Des Moines Register ENDORSES "blah blah blah"

and

Des Moines Register calls him "a man of courage and principle".

The Register shouldn't have praised him if they don't want him to repeat what they said.

Or is he not allowed to repeat anything nice anyone says about him unless he also repeats everything nice that is said about Hillary?

Well ... more accurately, words that are safe enough to remain unhidden fail me. Some rather choice ones do immediately come to mind, however. You'll have to use your imagination for what I'm actually thinking.
