It makes me wonder what the underlying issue is with these folks that attack him for standing then attack him for sitting.

So they're trying to associate Bernie with the same people but it's not comparable.

Can you imagine what they would say if Bernie took millions from the gun industry? He never took a dime but they still claim he's supported by the NRA.

They don't have anything on him but they'll keep trying to make it look like they do.

42. I don't believe I made that accusation

What is clear, however, is that his behavior does not comport with his claims. You've been fed a line by a politician, and you don't even care that it isn't true. That seems to be the common reaction.

It's clear that direct fundraising is just as inconsequential as super pac spending, corporate accountability (think gun corporations and Lockheed Martin), drones, single payer (the fact he himself declared it a non starter in 2009). Of course, the issue of the campaign finance system was long ago abandoned in order to present the problem as about Clinton as an individual rather than a systemic issue, even as Bernie benefits from the largest amount of Super Pac and dark money spending of any candidate of either party in this election. But now that's it's been uncovered that he directly solicited funds from representatives of the very banks he rails about, none of you care at all. That makes clear that the issue is NEVER what mattered that it significance is only as an argument to attack Clinton.

For sometime it's been clear to me that the opposition to Clinton has nothing to do with policy. The reaction to this disclosure once again confirms that.

45. The Clinton campaign is becoming a pretzel factory, spinning out twisted half-baked distortions

and nonsensical insinuations that miss the mark a country mile.

What the hell am I suppose to make of these rare gems of disconnected incoherence?

When you say:
1) "direct fundraising is (just as) inconsequential as super pac spending.." OR

2) "the issue of the campaign finance system was long ago abandoned in order to
present the problem as about Clinton .." OR

3) "it's clear to me that the opposition to Clinton has nothing to do with policy".

Last I checked, #1 - Bernie's ginormous direct donor base of millions of voters giving
their hard-earned money with individual contributions ($27 each -- the result of countless
hours of honest political work by quality volunteers, for which there is nothing to be ashamed.
Unlike getting handed $675,000 for a few speeches, when everyone knows that Goldman Sachs
is betting on the come, for future-access & influence, and doing so in broad daylight. When
you can show me where Bernie has tapped spurious sources for $675,000, then we can
talk, but until then why talk apples and oranges ?

#2 Last I checked, the issue of campaign finance is front and center in Bernie's platform,
and not just what he puts on his website, it's a passionate & genuine commitment to do
everything within his power to fight against money corrupting our politics. I have no idea
what you are even talking about on this one, but it's some kind of parallel universe I'd rather
avoid, if possible.

#3 Again, where do you come up with this crap? Bernie's campaign has everything to
do with policies to end a corrupt campaign finance regime, to hold Wall St. accountable --
along with much of corporate America -- to pay their fair share of tax, to curb their criminal
and unethical practices, and to at least pretend to give a rat's ass about the "little people".

Your obsessive suggestions that Bernie supporters care about NOTHING --not about issues, not
about policies, not about anything -- except "tearing down Hillary", are an amazing reflection
of how Hillary herself typically plays the Victim Card, when the chips are down. So that makes
perfect sense, but in a weird way.

14. Does Bernie

get the money back like Hillary seems to do???

The Alaska Democratic Party has collected more than $40,000 from a political committee tied to the presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton that raises money from billionaire donors, complicating the party’s message as it calls for campaign finance reform.

The party, in a monthly report filed Friday with the Federal Election Commission, said it raised $43,500 from the Hillary Victory Fund, with $10,000 donations from billionaires, including hedge fund manager S. Donald Sussman and Hyatt hotel heir J.B. Pritzker.

In the same report, the Alaska Democratic Party said it transferred an equal amount of money, $43,500, [back] to the Democratic National Committee -- a move that, while legal, helps to effectively “obliterate” federal limits on donations to the national committee, according to one campaign finance expert.

“It just becomes a way to give more to the DNC to support the Clinton campaign,” said Paul S. Ryan, deputy executive director of the Campaign Legal Center, which advocates for campaign finance reform. “It’s effectively Hillary Clinton’s team soliciting Hillary Clinton’s supporters for much bigger checks than they can give to the campaign -- knowing that every penny could be spent on the Clinton campaign.”

A Cuban-born sugar tycoon. A California-based registered foreign agent for the government of Sri Lanka. A Chicago billionaire.

All of them are recent large donors to the Maine Democratic Party via a complex fundraising scheme called the Hillary Victory Fund. The fund exploits recent court decisions and weakened campaign finance laws to maximize political contributions and funnel them to the Democratic National Committee.

[...]

But all the contributions haven’t stayed in Maine, or any of the other state Democratic parties to which Hillary Victory Fund donations have been funneled. Federal Election Commission reports show that the two October and November transfers totaling $39,000 from the Hillary Victory Fund to the Maine Democratic Party each sat for less than 48 hours with the party before the exact same amounts were transferred to the Democratic National Committee, or DNC.

[...]

While individual contributions to the state and national parties are capped, transfers between state and national committees are unlimited. That means that, effectively, donors can skirt contribution limits to the DNC or state parties by giving through joint fundraising committees like the Hillary Victory Fund.
