Dear Hillary, you are wrong about the ACA.
In the last debate you said
With respect - you are wrong. Aside from the fact no one is talking about tearing it up and having nothing...... NOW is the time to have this contentious debate. People are suffering under the weight of sheer greed all along the line in providing medical care. '
People are suffering under the weight of the sheer greed at the top - period.
For the last 30+ years I've watched administration after administration sell out the workers of this country. Your husband was one of the Presidents who participated in the "race to the bottom". The intent may have been to benefit workers but the opposite has happened. Investors have done fine. Workers have suffered. Worldwide.
I understand you want us all to just behave and take whatever the elite decide to give us. NO I WILL NOT. I will yell and scream and bitch and moan and fight with my last breath if that is what it takes to get a government that represents "We the People." ,
What's wrong with building on it, like we built on other social programs?
And you know Hillary care was more progressive that Obama care, right?
The subsidies are based on federal poverty level, which more-or-less will go up with inflation.
Insurance premiums are based on medical costs. While medical costs are growing a bit slower under the ACA, they are still growing faster than inflation. And WAAAAY faster than wages.
So after not too much time, we're going to end up with a lot of people who can not afford insurance premiums, yet make too much for the subsidies. And there isn't a way to fix that - increasing the subsidy limit just buys more time. As well as being utterly unable to pass Congress.
Fundamentally, we need to rein in medical costs. And the ACA can't do that because it relies on private insurers to do that. Private insurers make more money if medical costs go up, due to the medical loss ratio limit.
That's why the ACA was sold as a "stepping stone" to Democrats. It can not work as the end-state.
Do you think it's right that a few people should be able to profit from the suffering of millions of other people? Is it right to make health care and especially health insurance almost maze-like to intentionally make it difficult for people to navigate the system?
I could ask several more but these are enough.
We've been sold out more times in the past 35 yrs then I can count by people who talk down to us telling us we don't have a clue what we are talking about.
Wages have diminished
Quality of Life has diminished
Even the structure of Working Class Families has diminished under these Wealthy Elite serving policies
is a total waste of time and political capital.
when Hillary says she wants to build on ACA? Remember, this is the group of people who votes every other week to repeal it.
You don't think that will be contentious?
