Mitt Romney's likability problem (CNN poll) & why it'll cost him the election...

Mitt Romney is not very popular. His numbers continue to plummet, specifically his likability numbers and that is a huge indicator of electoral success.

Americans rarely elect presidents they do not like.

Romney is disliked by a majority of the country - with only Newt Gingrich having worse favorability ratings.

Worse, and this goes for all Republicans, Obama continues to receive favorable ratings.

He's liked by 53% of the country. 45% dislike him.

Romney only has a 34% favorability rating and a ghastly 54% unfavorability rating.

You're not going to win an election with numbers like that.

that boss that everyone hates. He strikes you as aloof and out of touch and when he asks "How are you doing," you know he doesn't care. Look I'm not big on the whole "I vote for people I want to have a beer with" mindset but what I want is a President who cares about the people he wants to govern. If a person doesn't care about people he will use them and abuse them.

The Republicans painted Kerry as a wealthy, wind-surfing elitist who could not possibly be in touch with the common man... now they will have the same problem thrown back at them. Except this time, it's more likely true.

The RWers always talk about Obama's approval numbers being below or near 50% and how that is a huge problem for him come November. Well, not if he's campaigning against a guy with a 34% favorability rating.

Heck, it's Mitt who has to get his numbers up if he wants to stand a shot in November. Obama could actually win win approval ratings in the low 40s if he was running against the Mitt and the fact that 54% of the country dislikes the Mitt.

The more he needs to catch up, the uglier he fights. That's the lesson from Florida. Romney will go nuclear in a heartbeat against whoever stands between him and his Oval Office destiny. I hope the president is prepared to hit back soon and hit back hard when Romney swings his sights toward the general election.

This will be the ugliest, most mud-splattered campaign since 1992 (far worse than 2008 or 2004). It may be the most vicious since the Jefferson-Adams election of 1800. You don't become part of the 1% by playing by the rules.

Ignore the current polls because I guarantee that when Romney wins the nomination (and he will) he will placate the right with a teabagger veep choice, maybe Rubio. And then the RW slime machine begins in earnest. The "scandals" will be endless, I expect a total do-over of 2008 where the right goes after all the same issues like cocaine, grades, papers, Ayers, kenya, whitey tape, Michelle's no-show 6 figure job, Rezko and Alinsky.
In other words, the right can't believe they couln't take him down with their 2008 slime so they will literally double down on it with an extra serving of solyndra, volt, deficit spending, 8% unemployment, $5 gas, pipeline and a side order of federal stormtroopers from michelle's army stealing first graders turkey and cheese sandwiches.
So yeh you nailed it... Slimiest election EVER coming soon

Mitt Zombie's ad shows him driving around Detroit in a CANADIAN MADE Chrysler 300, not an American made Chrysler 200. The car that Mitt Zombie drives in the commercial was made in Brampton, Ontario, not in Michigan.
