Bernie is running against more than one person. He is running against the media, corporations, MIC and Wall Street. Never mind the smear tactics and false accusations. This is not over and we need to stand by Bernie as he has stood by the working people all of his life. The Bern will continue on.

Bernie Sanders just lost South Carolina. And he's on a plane with no internet access.
Bernie Sanders just lost the South Carolina primary which seems to be pretty much what he expected.
But don't expect an on-site concession speech. In fact, if he stuck with his itinerary, the senator from Vermont is presently on a plane with no internet access to tell him the results.
Sanders' destination is Minnesota, a Super Tuesday caucus state where limited polling puts Hillary Clinton ahead, but the data is so minimal that FiveThirtyEight favors Sanders for the win. Bonnie Kristian

(21,210 posts)you do not incur any phone charges, the caller ID sees the local campaign office number and not your number.
The numbers are dialed for you from the system which calls you and then displays the next answered call on your computer. You just need to follow the script. You can see the sample script of the state you are calling when you register to call, there is another button to press before actually speaking to people, so give it a try!

(13,570 posts)Maybe it's that Bernie is a European-type socialist and people don't want that. Maybe it's that his policy proposals are too far fetched for too many people. Maybe it's that Hillary is better known, more qualified, and has a better groundgame.
Bernie is a very good person who cares about people. I share his general goals, but his proposals for achieving them are too much of a leap, and he is too vague about how he will actually achieve them.
After Tuesday Hillary will be so far ahead he won't be able to catch up. It is OVER.

(250 posts)The Democratic Party has slowly left us and what we have remaining is Republican-lite. Bernie is an actual Democrat and those of you bashing him and his supporters are guaranteeing a Republican gets into office. That includes Madam Corporate. What kind of democrat lobbies to get trade deals done that only crush our country? What kind of democrat chooses prison over education? What kind of democrat does not recognize that love is not only allowed when between men and women? What kind of democrat doesn't promise to strengthen and expand social security? What kind of democrat chooses war over diplomacy? I could go on, but I think it is obvious what we have to do. Fight on everyone. We can't let them silence us.

(11,945 posts)Corporate candidates.
I've been using ActBlue all along and have had questions about them. This time they trapped me in a webpage or popup that I could get out of only by closing my browser, and they did it twice. The first time was when they recognized my email address and popped up a little "Express Pay" tag which I foolishly clicked on only to find myself trapped on a page with darkened background and blurred, inaccessible tabs, no "close window," so the only way out was closing the browser. The second time had something to do with my refusing to give ActBlue a tip (by then I was too rattled to focus on details).
I hate them. I've been giving monthly amounts to Bernie in two installments since last June and for the longest time one of them showed up on my credit card notification as "ACTBLUE*DONATETODEMS" while the other showed up as ""ACTBLUE*BERNIE.SANDERS."
Okay, I just got a payment alert that says I donated tonight to "PAYPAL *ACTBLUE" Why doesn't it say "Bernie Sanders?"
How am I to know this money is going to Bernie's campaign? What the hell is ActBlue doing? I don't trust them anymore.
I would puke if any of my money went to either the DNC or that other candidate to whom I would never give a cent under any circumstance. Am pretty sure I've saved all the credit card alerts. Guess I'll contact the campaign and see how much money they've received from me.

The pointing is advice from a media relations consultant. It's intent is to make it look like she actually knows people in the crowd.

(643 posts)Is there anything about HRC that isn't scripted?
You know, I could tolerate a bit of the usual "politician doing what a politician does" kind of thing if it wasn't so night and day when I compare her record vs Sanders on the actual issues. It seems that issues often get lost in all the rhetoric but I just don't see what the HRC supporters are looking at when they are lined up side by side.

Voting tallies showed that Democratic vote was almost half of the Repub vote a week ago for Trump. Dems didn't bother to vote or the state is just all Repub, at this time. You can't make a Southern Repub vote Dem in the hard core South, it seems.

Words and Music by Woody Guthrie
This land is your land This land is my land
From California to the New York island;
From the red wood forest to the Gulf Stream waters
This land was made for you and Me.
As I was walking that ribbon of highway,
I saw above me that endless skyway:
I saw below me that golden valley:
This land was made for you and me.
I've roamed and rambled and I followed my footsteps
To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts;
And all around me a voice was sounding:
This land was made for you and me.
When the sun came shining, and I was strolling,
And the wheat fields waving and the dust clouds rolling,
As the fog was lifting a voice was chanting:
This land was made for you and me.
As I went walking I saw a sign there
And on the sign it said "No Trespassing."
But on the other side it didn't say nothing,
That side was made for you and me.
In the shadow of the steeple I saw my people,
By the relief office I seen my people;
As they stood there hungry, I stood there asking
Is this land made for you and me?
Nobody living can ever stop me,
As I go walking that freedom highway;
Nobody living can ever make me turn back
This land was made for you and me.
