2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumVoted early today. Only saw Trump supporters outside.
Today was the first day of early voting in Florida (Dade County).
Went to local library polling place around 2:30pm (half hour before they close). It wasn't crowded at all. I think I saw maybe 8 other people voting or entering/leaving the polling area.
In past elections, I've seen crowds of supporters for various candidates outside the place.
This time around, I only saw two people standing together holding Trump signs (or wearing Trump shirts, don't recall--wasn't paying a whole lot of attention to them).
They didn't even try to approach me.
And no Hillary or Bernie signs anywhere, at least not at the entrance I used.

(27,247 posts)and on an early voting day, I would assume that supporters of other candidates had decided to call it a day since, as you described, your voting place wasn't exactly a beehive of activity when you arrived.

I've even AVOIDED returning books a couple of times in the past when I had gone to the library, not realizing it was early voting season, and found the swarming supporters outside.
Of course, those particular times probably weren't on the first day of voting. Probably they were closer to the last day.
