Hillary Clinton was involved in brief confrontation with a young woman during a campaign stop in Minnesota Tuesday afternoon as voters headed to the polls to cast their ballot in the states primary.
The Democratic presidential front-runner was leaving a coffee shop when an unidentified Somali-American asked Clinton to comment on past racial remarks, including her recently retracted super-predator speech, and the lack of diversity among elected officials.
Clinton went on to reference Abdi Warsame, the first Somali-American elected to the Minneapolis City Council, which the woman questioned, arguing he lacked authenticity.
You know what, dear? You have a different opinion, Clinton fired back. He is a Somali-American elected to the city council, and I am really proud of that.
After the woman continued to challenge Clinton, the former first lady responded, Well, why dont you go run for something, then?

(14,449 posts)Hillary was poised as always. She gave wonderful advise to the young woman.

(1,384 posts)The lady only wants to rearguard what has already been addressed and attack. She does not seem interested in listening to the response and yet offers no solutions herself.

(1,384 posts)She gave an example of a Somali American elected to council and the young lady was completely dismissive of his accomplishment. I would've told her the same thing. You guys are really grasping at straws here. Must be Super Tuesday.

(303 posts)it seems to me; just seems to me, like she gets a kick out of being totally condescending and views us as a bunch of simpletons that can be lied to/placated/appealed to as needed without consequence.

(6,440 posts)I'm all for encouraging people to get involved in the political process. But you can bet your bottom dollar that if she did try to run for office, the DNC would do everything in its power to quash her campaign, even if it meant supporting her Republican opponent.

Here she is in a coffee shop interacting with voters - it's not even a $500/ per person fundraiser.
