History repeats itself once as tragedy, then as farce

Or something.

I barely post anymore but I still lurk, and it is amazing how the arguments that Hillary supporters made in 2008 are being made by Bernie supporters in 2016. With one weird exception that deserves its own subtopic.

Obama "won all the red states" in 2008, because black voters in the South flocked to him. Hillary is winning all the red states now. Both times it was a bogus argument. You win the states you win and you count the votes.

X% of the country hasn't voted yet. This one never goes away unfortunately.

Why are black voters doing this? The fact that Hillary is doing so well with black voters this time around when she did so poorly in 2008 kind of indicates that maybe possibly black voters THINK before they vote and aren't some monolith to lament in the primaries and praise in the general. Race at DU has always been a weird issue.

I'm fully expecting a Bernie PUMA movement to start any day now.

In the end, most everyone came together in 2008 and we won. I'm confident the same will happen this time.

Hillary's supporters found them "undemocratic" in 2008. They probably still do, I guess, but the Bernie supporters love them.
