How many days after Clinton becomes president will Congress begin impeachment proceedings?

Hypothetically Clinton gets elected president. Hypothetically more or less the same nutjob whackadoodle congress returns for its 2016 session. When will the impeachment over <what the fuck ever> begin?

115th Congress meets on Jan 3rd, unless we somehow flip it (the House), then they will have 17 days to prepare their impeachment. The moment she is sworn in it will be tabled. (Well, later that afternoon, before the inaugural ball.)

Note: not drunk posting I swear, I really think that's what they'll do.

for Democrats at all.

The same applies to Hillary's decisions that get her to this current point.

Her poor decisions have made a mess of things. Hillary chose to do many things that may have been legal but the law was used as a yard stick as to the line that couldn't be crossed rather than a principle to be upheld. She will have to deal with and accept the consequences of those actions.

Polls conducted during 1998 and early 1999 showed that only about one-third of Americans supported Clinton's impeachment or conviction, Clinton approval numbers skyrocketed.

In 1998 Republicans lost five seats in the House—the worst midterm performance in 64 years by a party not holding the presidency. Gingrich, who won his reelection, was held largely responsible for Republican losses in the House. His private polls had given his fellow Republican Congressmen a false impression that pushing the Lewinsky scandal would damage Clinton's popularity and result in the party winning a net total of six to thirty seats in the US House of Representatives in this election.[86] The day after the election, a Republican caucus ready to rebel against him prompted his resignation of the speakership. He also announced his intended and eventual full departure from the House in January 1999.

GOP Speaker-elect Bob Livingston then resigned over reports of sexual impropriety.

Al Gore won more votes than any Democratic presidential candidate up to that point.

Back to when similar predictions were being made about how fast the repubs would start impeachment proceedings against Obama after (1) his election in 2012 or (2) the mid term elections of 2014.

It ranks up there with the October surprise war on Iran threads of 2008. But behind the Karl Rove indictment/24 business hours threads of 2006.

This place can be a real hoot sometimes.

Just saying, I like that we're moving on to speculating about Clinton winning, opposed to the daily posts I bookmark foretelling that she won't. Even if said speculation is under the guise of impeachment. It's a step up, to be sure.

But the point I was trying to make was the Lewisnki brouhaha was great entertainment.

It is also was a boon for Clinton and the Democrats. He and the party were never so popular. We actually picked up seats in the 98 mid-terms, which defied historical trends.

Let me know when you are ready to crawl out of the hole. I've got some great reality you might like to taste.

I see the same dynamic there; if my team can't win I am going to root for any team against the team that vanquished my team. That sentiment is strong here.
