entitled something to the effect "Sanders isn't comfortable in the company of Black People"

Then a couple of days later, there was the counter piece "Clinton feels good in the company of Black People".

I felt that both posts were beyond ridiculous. My posts were my attempt to counter the earlier posts.

Guess mine didn't work out the way I had hoped.

How Hillary Clinton Went Undercover to Examine Race in Education

The future Mrs. Clinton, then a 24-year-old law student, was working for Marian Wright Edelman, the civil rights activist and prominent advocate for children. Mrs. Edelman had sent her to Alabama to help prove that the Nixon administration was not enforcing the legal ban on granting tax-exempt status to so-called segregation academies, the estimated 200 private academies that sprang up in the South to cater to white families after a 1969 Supreme Court decision forced public schools to integrate.

“It was dangerous, being outsiders in these rural areas, talking about segregation academies,” said Cynthia G. Brown, a longtime education advocate who did work similar to Mrs. Clinton’s.

She added, “We thought we were part of the civil rights struggle, definitely.”

and I think it's pretty obvious by now that particular approach has not succeeded in persuading African Americans to vote for Bernie. Voters care what candidates are going to do now, here in the present, not what they did a half century ago.

The post is for anybody who is interested in history and Sanders' history?

If anybody doesn't care they can just look away. There's not a big banner at the top saying "Listen Up Black People".

why you would rather white wash History and let Bernie's Civil Rights activism be forgotten.

These photos and Bernie's later actions throughout his distinguished career are consistent with his character of caring for all the people regardless of race and I believe this discomforts you.

I guess the point is to just make yourselves feel better.

It's better than the threads about how AAs just aren't informed enough to vote people as here insist they should, or the ones trying to come up with ways to disenfranchise the entire South. The sort of thing that Skinner commented on here:

If you don't like that you could always find another site to hang out on I guess.

Or hit trash thread.

Some people post stupid things because this is the internet.

You're trying to change the subject. Yes there are some idiots on the site who are condescending to black people. I don't approve of that.

That doesn't mean every time somebody posts a photo or comment about Bernie Sanders civil rights record that it is directed at any particular person or group.

We are allowed a space to discuss or celebrate Bernie's record. If you don't like it, look away. Or continue to make your comments if you want.

While we are at it, let's fix these other states some of which are even less diverse than Vermont.

And you know what, I don't see Illinois or Arkansas on this list. Why is that not an issue for Clinton?

Jackson captured 6.9 million votes and won 11 contests: seven primaries (Alabama, the District of Columbia, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Puerto Rico and Virginia) and four caucuses (Delaware, Michigan, South Carolina and Vermont).[6] Jackson also scored March victories in Alaska's caucuses and Texas's local conventions, despite losing the Texas primary.[7][8] Some news accounts credit him with 13 wins.[9] Briefly, after he won 55% of the vote in the Michigan Democratic caucus, he was considered the frontrunner for the nomination, as he surpassed all the other candidates in total number of pledged delegates.

arguably the most liberal state in the US, and the people there are generally very nice, kind, friendly people. The air and water are clean, the crime rate is low, and they make maple syrup.

So, are you saying that Bernie should not live in a beautiful state because there are too many white people there for your taste?
