If it's Trump v. Hillary, Trump will make a pitch for the millennials

There are a lot of millennials angry enough to oppose Hillary should she win the nomination. Many don't have the experience of struggle that older people have, so they are bewildered that Hillary has so much support from minority communities. Many of them, while sympathetic to minorities and knowing that Sanders would be the better choice, do not have any emotional investment in the minority communities. Many of them may not really understand the fear of Trump, what fascism really means, since that word is so far removed from their lives.

Thus, Trump could be appealing, since, like Bernie, he is anti-establishment. In fact, he is so anti-establishment that he is doing grave damage to the Republican Party. If you want an anti-establishment candidate and can't have Bernie, will Trump do? What does Trump need to do to woo the millennials if not to vote for him, at least to stay home? You know he will do something -- he might offer complete loan forgiveness for college students, for instance. He might say he's the only one left who will really take on Wall Street. And of course he'll promise to be the best president ever for people of color, and so on. Do you think he can woo many millennials? Do you think he can at least persuade them to stay home? I doubt he'll have much impact on millennials at DU, but what about the others?

Would they support rescinding marriage equality? - that is what Trump wants
Would they support waterboarding and torture? - Trump wants that again
Would they support his new-found pro-life positions? deporting people, banning Muslims, lowering taxes on millionaires?

...and don't anyone say Hillary supports those things because it is a lie. a damn lie.

Millenials hate Hillary but they will do the Worm over molten lava to keep Trump out. I actually hate this meme where we Millenials and post-Millenials (who btw, are disproportionately POC who have even more to lose) are going to stay home and let Trump win just because the nom is Hilllary.

We're literally making memes about this guy having us running the Hunger Games by 2018 at BEST, and having us living out the Planet of the Apes at worst.

What scares me is that we're not AS scared of people like Cruz, Rubio, and Kasich (all of whom are nearly as crazy) because Trump is distracting everyone from how fucked up the rest of the GOP field is.

ticker results in a GOP victory. We should learn from 2000, when Nader voters who thought they would make a statement "and be done with it" played right into the election of GWBush and the ensuing Iraq War, waterboarding, Gitmo, Abu Ghraib, the Alito-Roberts Supreme Court Appointments, undermining voting rights, intimidation of climate scientists, tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans, heckuva-job-Brownie appointments of incompetents undercutting the effectiveness of everything from FEMA to the USDA, collapse of the economy, and so much more. If you are in a position of such privilege that none of this will affect you, and you don't really care how any of it affects everyone else, I suppose you will rationalize your choice to "be done with it."

Assertions about them.

I've noticed that different people- and different generational demographics, often- have very different definitions of what constitutes "progressive ideas".

I dont think they're gonna be buying what Trump is selling, but you might be mistaken in thinking they'd buy what you would sell them, as well.

And it doens't say much for Bernie supporters if there's a serious threat of many of them voting for Trump.
