So, what ever President Obama says or does, the claim it was the opposite. What ever he asks them to do, they do the opposite.

Which is why I wish he'd insist that they continue to breathe.

already seeing those old 2009 claims that Obama cancelled Natl Day of Prayer and pics of Obama taking off his shoes before entering a mosque in Turkey, as "Obama Cancels Natl Day of Prayer but Prays at Mosque" circulating like crazy on FB. Oh, and the old photoshop from 9/11 ceremony years ago where they made it look like their hands were over the left side of their chest.

They're desperate this year. But they'll be digging into the old bag of tricks and we'll be ready.

How can you say a country's "journey has never been one of short-cuts" when that country enslaved millions of people over a course of 200 years to get where it got? I love my country, but I don't pretend for a second that we would have been nearly as prosperous or successful today without the benefit of starting off with slave labor.

I understand he has to speak in good soundbites and every politician does this, but let's not pretend any politician is some truthtelling soothsayer.

10. You may have some obscure point, but the o.p. deals specifically with the topic of "pessimism".

Perhaps you'd like to start your own thread that deals with the critiques you've laid out? Please feel free.

to state the hard facts, and to tell us to get off our asses when we need to. In this particular case he seems to be catering to what sounds good in commercials instead of speaking from the heart.

I realize there are folks like yourself who value "their truth" above all else, but like I said you're perfectly free to start your own o.p. on the subject. However, this one deals specifically with & eviscerates the charge of "pessimism" as leveled by one of his GOP opponents.

And who are you to say what's in the president's "heart"? Who are you? The Amazing Kreskin? Neither you, nor Mitt Romney can make such a claim. I'd certainly hate to have your nerve in my tooth.

One leader tells me "work harder." The other says, "Get out of my seat." Whom should I follow? It's the ant and the grasshopper all over again. You'd think the Midwestern states would have learned their lessons about grasshoppers long ago...
