By this time in 2008 just before the 2nd Tuesday in March...

41 states and DC already had their primaries or caucuses. Only 18 states have done so in 2016.

Ohio, Rhode Island, Texas and Vermont were the last states at the end of this group. The delegate count was then Obama 1652 and Clinton 1592. A difference of 60 delegates. During this period only after DC, Maryland, and Virginia had their primaries did the difference go over 100 with a difference of 103. The average difference during this period was 25.78 delegates.

9 states remained in 2008 while there are 32 states and DC remaining in 2016.
