Will he realize that he is an abject failure, that NO ONE LIKES HIM, and finally, once and for all END IT?
I doubt it. But I wish he would.

(11,304 posts)him then maybe he should represent the losers in the general election. I think it doesn't matter in the end who is running. American people are going to come to their senses and are going to vote for Obama. They at least know he isn't going to push that nuke button as easily as republicans want to. They want a president who is a thinking calm person.

(10,857 posts)I have Mitt pegged with Narcissistic Personality Disorder, the same as Shrub.

People with NPD have big problems with self esteem. They only like themselves when they live inside of the delusion that they are competent and successful.
When that delusion wears out, the subject nose-dives into depression. Remember the approximately three years of vacation George W. Bush took while in office? I think those were the times when Bush realized what a terrible person he really was, and I fully expect it to emerge in the coming decades that Bush spent his "vacations" with a team of psychiatrists and psychologists who worked overtime to keep that asshole acting like an asshole, instead of curling up in a ball and leaving our national defenses totally compromised. (Either that, or he was consulting with Dr. Evan Williams--equally possible.)
NPD is almost impossible to treat because as soon as the subject believes the delusion again, he ditches treatment. Unlike sociopaths, narcissists do feel empathy, shame, and regret for what they have done--but only when their self-esteem has collapsed.
I think my hypothesis can be partially bolstered by watching what happens next week. If Mitt's boys can't steal Michigan from Santorum, I suspect we'll see Romney effectively disappear for a few days until his handlers can feed him enough bullshit to get him going again.
