Democratic vote suppression in S.Central Texas X-Post Texas Group
My wife and I had a troubling conversation with a young lady working in a store. There was no line and somehow the talk turned to the recent primary election. What she said was troubling to the extreme.
In Texas there is no party registration. When you vote in a primary you tell them what party ballot you wish and they stamp your registration card that you voted in that primary.
She showed here ID as now required by our new jim Crow poll tax. They gave her a rPuke ballot saying, "of course you are voting Republican." She is white. She said, No, I am a Democrat." All of a sudden her ID was no good and they weren't going to let her vote. She raised holy Hell and did get to vote because they were afraid of scandal.
Then she told us this happened to a neighbor at another polling place. (We can vote at any polling place regardless of our percent.)
If I had any doubt of the pervasive evil in this party it has evaporated into the ozone.
