I can find that guy in the video in every state of the Union.
We moved from a Big Blue Northern City to the old South in 2006,
and love it here.
We can drink the water that bubbles up from the Ozark Spring in our back yard.
We've also found many educated Liberal Democrats living here, enjoying their life, growing their own food, and raising chickens and other critters.

The South is beautiful, and belongs to us all.
Why just give it away to the "necks"?
More people will be moving here in the near future as LA runs out of water, the cost of heating during the Winter rises, and people wise up that almost all the water "up North" has been poisoned.
I'll save you a spot, but better hurry.

Living well on a LOW taxable income
and stuff we learned in the 60s.
In 2008, 1/3 of the people up in these old mountains voted for "the black guy".
Due to the low population density, it wouldn't take very many people to flip that the Blue. Our votes here weigh MUCH more than they did in Minneapolis.

(8,267 posts)Hi11ary might still get the Democratic nomination, and MOST of us understand that. With each of Bernie's victories, her "nomination" looks less and less likely.
That being said, I think Bernie has quite a bit more support than the Oligarchs are willing to admit. Consequently, if Hi11ary does get the nomination, hers will be a Pyrrhic victory, at best.
Go BERNIE!!!

(39,215 posts)danger of nominating a candidate that so many do not want to vote for.
While they are still hanging on to Hillary hoping they can continue politics as usual I think they would much rather have a candidate that can win for their party.
By the time the primary voting is done and Hillary and the DNC have angered some more voters she is not going to look like such a sure thing.
I fully expect the super-delegates to do what is best for the country and for their own political careers.
I have five SDs still hanging onto her in a state that voted heavily for Bernie. Shouldn't take much longer for them to realize that we are not following them anymore. "I need to go for there they go and I am their leader."

Louisiana March 5 35 12 Primary Closed
Nebraska March 5 10 14 Caucus Closed
Kansas March 5 10 23 Caucus Closed

(4,667 posts)And Hillary will erase this Tuesday with one victory in Michigan.
Sanders has to stop winning small rural caucus states and get a real win in a big primary state to truly turn this race around.
TexasTowelie
(111,928 posts)She will pad that lead with Michigan if the polls are correct. I agree with you that Sanders needs to win (and win big) in a larger primary state in order to erase the deficit. Winning the Maine caucus 2,200 - 1,214 is almost significant.
aaaaaa5a
(4,667 posts)I think Sanders has to win Michigan. People have really soured on caucases. They are undemocratic and are disproportionately held in small, rural, non-momentum building states. Sanders needs a big, important PRIMARY win soon.
Until that happens, Clinton remains the presumptive nominee and Sanders an outside protest candidate.

(111,928 posts)equates to votes. There were large rallies for Bernie in Texas, but he still lost by almost a 2-1 margin.
I've never put out a sign in my yard or a bumper sticker on my vehicles because doing so makes the property a likely target for vandalism. There are plenty of benefits to not indicating which candidate your support and keeping the decision about which candidate you support relegated to the voting booth. Indicating that you support a Democrat is usually okay in the metro areas of Texas, but it is not a smart move to advertise the same in the suburbs or rural areas.

(1,588 posts)This entire super delegate thing is to subvert the will of the voters. Super delegates have no responsibility to reflect the popular vote in their states! How can this be called a democracy when one super delegate vote can cancel out a number of popular votes.
Today the Tampa Bay Times Politifact process evaluated Wasserman Schultz claim that she scheduled the Democratic debates on weekends so more people could see them. The Tampa Bay Times did all kinds of research, contacted media specialists, etc., and came to the conclusion that Wasserman Schultz reasoning is false. People are LESS likely to view the debates on weekends but then most of us had figured that out already. We knew EXACTLY was Wasserman Schultz was trying to do!
Below are two petitions if anyone is interested:

(23,924 posts)as long as Hillary's campaigning against Sen. Sanders, she doesn't have to constantly explain the email thing. that changes when she goes up against the Republicans, at this point.
HRC supporters should be glad that someone as direct and respectful as Sen. Sanders is sticking it out to run against her. if he takes it to the convention and loses there, she can start in on the Republicans, who should be up to their eyebrows in problems of their own by then. if Sen. Sanders wins outright, or indictments develop for the situations around the email server or the Clinton Foundation, Democrats will be overjoyed that another candidate, a worthy opponent, is right there ready to pick up the banner.
after watching the debate, it looks to me like this situation is actually very win-win.

(10,493 posts)There was one line over a mile long, where people waited 5 hours in 40 degree weather, only to have voter registration cut off early and were forced to change from a caucus to primary format to get the lines through. They were completely overwhelmed by the turnout. It even exceeded 2008. Great turnout.

(11,559 posts)HRC is not my ideal candidate, so I don't have an axe to grind, and especially not a partisan position on her side. She will sink or swim on the public's assessment of the candidates, and my input will not make even a scintilla of difference. However, I think perspective is sometimes lacking.
Specifically, at the moment, today's poll numbers.
Michigan - HRC +13 in one poll, +37 in the other. *
Ohio - HRC +21
NY _ HRC +21
Of course, there could be errors, or the questions not properly phrased, or an inadequate sample size, but these are not the numbers of a candidate that's already done, somewhat sloppy polling or no.
* Yes, I know. That outlier is from Fox, who could easily be working against Sanders.

(5,402 posts)He didn't win in my location in the far northern part of the state, but Aroostook County is very traditional Catholic, has one of the densest populations of seniors and is consequently conservative. Still the vote was 35 Bernie to 42 Clinton. When I saw that in my conservative locale, I knew he was going to win the state.
