Appears Clintons were still friends with birther tRump

No one can legitimately dispute that the Clintons and Trumps were/are friends. They have associated for years and WJC was a frequent golf buddy of Trump.
There is even an often-quoted story of WJC advising Trump that he could make a decent run at the republican ticket for president (article from August 2015):

So, if the Clintons respect and admire PBO, why were they friends with and encouraging Trump to run for president?
I cannot think of anything more insulting and demeaning to PBO than being friends with and encouraging this racist and birther asshat to run for president.
Nice at the same time he is still spouting birther bullshit he is, at the very least, still on friendly terms with Trump and unofficially, informally, advising him on politics.
