Related: About this forumHillary Clinton Is One of the Most Ethical (and Most Lied About) Political Leaders in America
The most they have are votes they disagree with. And even there, the false frames are tossed around with no regard for facts. Hillarys voting record is as liberal as Elizabeth Warrens, yet somehow Hillary is the only one portrayed by critics as a sell-out, a closet Republican, a traitor to progressives.
I agree with most of Bernie Sanders platform which is very similar to Hillarys but contrary to the assertions of his supporters, Bernie is not some outsider untouched by the messy complexities of politics. He is a seasoned politician who has spent a quarter century in Congress; he sided with the NRA when it was politically expedient; his top adviser is a consummate DC insider who has worked for candidates who are anathema to the left; he has hired pollsters to hone his message after saying he didnt need pollsters; and he has shown a willingness to take swipes at the likes of Planned Parenthood and HRC when it serves his political goals.
My point is this: the notion that somehow Bernie is pure good and Hillary is pure evil is hogwash. They are both politicians who make judgments and adopt positions, some of which we agree with, others we dont.

(25,816 posts)And if you do a little bit of research you can find out how dishonest she is for yourself.
Just a little bit.
everything about Clinton has been about privacy issues and republican witch hunts and LIES. (Except for the activity of Bill Clinton, which frankly is none of anyones buisness how she deals with it).
She doesnt have to release transcripts of crap until everyone does.
All republican lies. From whitewater to Vince Foster to emails to Benghaaazzziii. Republicans LIE and suckers believe it.
I swear some "democrats" are going to be as unhappy as the republiCONS when she is President.

(5,764 posts)...would tell her voters what she said to Wall St in exchange for millions of dollars in payouts instead of hiding it and making excuses. Just item one on a very very very very long list where Clinton places political expedience above ethical behavior.
The author appears to be confused about the meaning of ethics.

(643 posts)I can only answer for myself but here are a number of reasons I don't care for her/distrust her;
Clintons position on Keystone (or lack of one). She waited until the same week that Obama made his decision before announcing where she stood. That's not standing up for the environment. That's politics.
Wall Street money. Whether it's impression or reality, it's there and it can't help but make me wonder. Generally speaking, it's hard to imagine the banks and Wall Street throwing all of that money at her and saying "here you go, we don't expect anything in return." By the way, how is that search for the transcripts going?
Her opposition to Glass Stegall. Though I do recall her telling the banks to "cut it out." Thanks Hillary.
Her Iraq vote. You may be sick of hearing about it but it's a big deal. It was poor judgement and lack of foresight. Sanders saw that it would destabilize the region. And it did. Now we not have the legacy of the Iraq war, we have the current ISIS situation.
Speaking of that, there is the no-fly zone proposal. Another poor foreign policy decision. What happens when Russian jets cross that line? You have to be prepared for that and I don't see it.
The email and server investigation by the FBI. Sorry, it's real. It very well could end up being nothing in the end, but what if it's not? What if it drags on until the general election and then she gets indicted? Then you end up with a republican in the White House.
Gay marriage. You can see how she has flip flopped over the years, as confirmed via politifact. Another change based on the political winds.
Her support of the TPP
These are facts. All of these things and more have led me to distrust her judgement and her authenticity. It stands in stark contrast with her opponent.

(40,416 posts)And go forward to her Iraq vote, and let's factor in her mentor, Henry Kissinger.
Then, we can begin talking about ethics. I would not relish being for Clinton's position in this debate. Maybe that is why her approval rating is so horrible, just like all the GOP candidates.

It's completely mind-boggling that this woman, who will lie with conviction at the drop of a hat and change her position just as easily, has managed to make people think she's a victim, and hilariously - ethical! I guess having an army of people to do her dirty work keeps her hands clean.
