Hillary did at least 91 talks, each for a minimum fee of $100,000, to corporations, trade associations and a handful of nonprofit groups from January 2013 to April 2015. The total amount of money that Hillary raised doing these 91 private talks was $21.7 million, averaging around $225,000 a pop. This money did not go to her presidential campaign fund. It did not go to one of her Wall Street SuperPACS. No, it went directly into her personal bank account. These talks made her a spectacularly wealthy woman.
In short, Hillary revived the lost art of getting a direct personal payoff from the very corporate interests that have a clear stake in the policies and regulations she would pursue once she became president.
Thanks to my nephew Jed McChesneythe guy who produced this -- we now have a sortable chart that lists all 91 corporate talks, their dates and location, and the amount Hillary pocketed to her personal bank account for doing them. Some of these talks did not even require her to travelshe skyped them in.
Go through this list. Look at the companies that hired Hillary for a talk and what they paid her. These are almost all giant companies with massive lobbying armies and campaign donations associated with them. They have a lot of crucial business with the federal government. This sortable list is a moveable feast of corruption. Look up the identities of some of the groups you may not recognize. Some are massive private hedge funds. Note that Hillary got paid $1.6 million to do several talks to Canadian pro-Keystone groups.Gee, I wonder what she had to say to them? That might tell us a great deal about her actual stance of environmental issues.

(25,241 posts)talked about donating to politicians when he was a businessman and expecting to get something in return. He also said he donated to Hillary and said what he wanted in return was for her to come to his wedding. That's why he says he's self-funding so he's not beholden to anyone or any group.
Along with Hillary's listing posted in this thread and Trump saying as a businessman he expected favors when he donated - it's like a one-two punch.

(24,411 posts)You know, in the real world (where people aren't sociopaths), you go to a person's wedding because you love them and want to share their joy.
In the world that these fools circulate--they pay $250,000 to someone, to bribe them to come to your wedding. And they take the money and show up with bells on!
Think about how fucked up that is.
Many of the movers and the shakers on our planet have completely lost their minds (and their humanity).

Wish I'd gotten a screen shot. Can't find it now but it's an eye opener.

(14,177 posts)Being beholden to people who pay you large speaking fees is bad because it is lawmakers who are responsible for protecting citizens from predatory employers. That is corporations that will shaft workers and move jobs to where wages are lower.

(57,936 posts)I'll tell you what she will get done judging from the lists of the people who paid her $200,000 per speech: She will privatize Social Security. That's what she will do.
She will also sign the TPP and get it passed through that Republican Congress.
She will do a lot of horrible things and that is why I will vote for every other Democrat on my ballot but not for Hillary
Hillary is corruption walking.

(53,031 posts)A link to Kos promising a chart, links to a Reddit page promising a chart, yet there is still no chart. People can post whatever they want on either site, with no editing or concern about sources. It takes absolute disregard for evidence to vest any credibility in that. And this from people who insist The Washington Post is illegitimate because it dares to suggest Bernie may not be infallible.
Corruption is not receiving a paycheck. There is nothing in Clintons voting record that indicates she sold out to those corporations. She didn't vote for blanket immunity for an entire corporate industry that profits from killing. She doesn't pretend to oppose defense spending while voting for and defending over a trillion dollars in corporate welfare for Lockheed Martin. Those are the votes of a candidate who claims to stand up for corporate accountability yet applies that concept extremely selectively.
Yet favors to corporations don't cause a bit of concern. Instead the sin is earning money, at least when Clinton does it. The richest presidents in history are routinely hailed as heroes here, while a hedge find millionaire running for Senate is treated as a progressive hero. Policy and voting record, irrelevant. Money, not a problem unless Hillary is earning it. There isn't even a pretense of intellectual consistency.
The GOP and " progressives" have been spreading crap about Hillary non-stop. Hundreds of millions of dollars later, she has 1.5 million votes more than Bernie and that margin is growing everyday. That means that despite what you all say about Hillary, voters still prefer her to Bernie. Think on that a bit. No matter how much shit flung at Clinton, voters still find Bernie unacceptable, and it sure is isn't because they haven't heard the output of the Rove machine propaganda.
Meantime, people who claim to be indignant that a woman earns two hundred thousand dollars for a speech are declaring their intention to vote for a bigoted billionaire, while others defend unfettered corporate profits for the gun industry over the rights and the lives of American citizens. All of this demonstrates in no uncertain terms that policy and principle come last.
Happy March 15! It is going to be a beautiful day.
