Ghetto Rich

Ghetto Rich by Rich Boy

Let me take you through my hood where I was born and raised
Where niggas tote semi-automatics, busting them K's
Heavy guns and dope funds and raids by the police
Still getting pulled over and asked by the police
'Bama wasn't made for a nigga to win
See the color of your skin get you put in the pen
It's real life, over dice, Dwayne dead and gone
Sending niggas to the pen or the funeral home
I be feeling like the Lord will never answer me back
So I'm holding on my gat just in case they attack
Bullet holes in your house will make it hard to sleep
You see the fiends on the street want the hard for cheap
A lot of niggas doing life from undercovers and fake friends
It's real how them penitentiary bars'll break men
Niggas doing life from undercovers and fake friends
It's real how them penitentiary bars'll break men

- Hook - John Legend -
It's where you live, it's where you play
It's where you learn your favorite slang
Your world is ghetto
It's where I live; it's where I'm from
It's where you had to tote your gun
Your world is ghetto

....

"On this remix to the 2007 original, Rich Boy, Lil Wayne, and Nas describe the struggles of living in the ghetto. While oftentimes living in the ‘hood is glorified, all three rappers offer a more candid take in this song about the fear, mistrust, and deception that define their daily lives.

Lil' Wayne in particular delivers one of his most heartfelt verses, describing the temptations of drug dealing, rising to fame, and dealing with the responsibility of being a role model."

...

Let's stop the nonsense about Bernie being a racist because he used the word ghetto.

Is that really too hard of a concept to understand? When Eminem sings about trailer parks is that some sort of proof that most white people live in trailer parks?

NOT SAFE FOR WORK

Well Jimmy moved in with his mother
Cos he ain't go no place to go
And now I'm right back in the gutter
With a garbage bag that's full of clothes

Cause you live at home in a trailer
What the hell you gonna do (yee-hah!)
Cause I live at home in a trailer
Mom I'm coming home to you

Well my name is Jimmy
He's name's Greg Buehl
Me and him and you, - we went to the same school
This ain't cool... I'm in a rage
He's tapping my mom and we're almost the same age
On the microphone I drop bombs
Look at this car... 'Thanks a lot, Mom!'
"Here and happy birthday Rabbit! Here's a brand new car, you can have it. A 1928 Delta..."
This shit won't even get me to the shelter
And I can't even say I'm from mowtown
Cause I'm back in the 810 now

Cos I live at home in a trailer
Mom I'm coming home to you

Recommended.

When I was born, my family lived in the largest "low-income" neighborhood in a six-county region. It was known, among other things, as "the ghetto." And neither of the two black families that lived in this community resided in that neighborhood.

Every so often, an intelligent, educated person such as Bernie Sanders uses words correctly. This can confuse some, and result in others seeking to create plastic outrage to distract from the message.
