They aren't going to sit around and watch anything Bern.
Things are going to get dirty fast as they ride in to rescue their candidate of choice - HRC. They need to shut down any vision of the future that threatens their comfortable position. Michigan was a wake up call, Bernie just got their attention.
Expect lots more dirty tricks, surprise moves, and below-the-belt attacks validated and spread by the media. More of the same and then some. I think it's gonna get ugly.
I even heard Elizabeth Warren's name mentioned on CNN as a running mate for Hillary. A way to draw Bernie's supporters to HRC's camp. Pretty clear Warren would be a valuable asset to either candidate... and could tip the balance in a close race for the nomination.

(13,101 posts)Bernie and supporters can take it.
Bernie supporters will not switch their votes if Elizabeth Warren is chosen as Hillary's VP.
It will just show that Hillary is not certain she can win.

(11,605 posts)And a staunch libertarian. But he is not quaking in his boots about Bernie because he doesn't think most of his economic proposals will actually pass. He actually thinks Bernie is the least offensive of the major party candidates who have a chance of winning their respective nominations.

(13,685 posts)Plus that they ignore Bernie and sell him short.
If the 1%ers do decide to start blazing away at Bernie, they risk giving him all that free press.
I say bring it, because Bernie has nothing to hide and all they can do is tell lies, and we see how well that's working: Michigan.
Lady last night went on about free stuff. I said, ""See that road out there? That's free stuff.""
The free stuff list we all love is a huge benefit and entitlement, especially for us rich people.

(20,998 posts)...and that is just how fed up with the status quo the younger, independent voters are. Bernie may have coattails, and not for establishment Congressional candidates. The approval rating for Congress is at an all-time low, and this Supreme Court justice kerfuffle just may be the tipping point.

(11,605 posts)But I am not going to go out of my way to push that meme on people who would be more opposed to him if they took him seriously.
That said, I don't think Bernie will be able to get everything he is proposing passed (no president does, even FDR), and on certain things, I am not sure I even want to go as far as he does (for example, I believe Medicare should be an option for everyone, but not necessarily the only option). I consider myself somewhere between Hillary and Bernie ideologically, but much closer to Bernie, which is one of several reasons I am supporting him. I also like the idea of having a president who is actually a little bit to the left of me on certain things - there has not been a president to the left of me in my lifetime, or even in my grandparents' lifetime.

(9,385 posts)If she does her usual dirty tricks I think it will mostly backfire on her. But then, the establishment was clueless enough to have Mittens pour gasoline on Trump's fire, so you never know. It's good to be prepared for anything.
The fact is, if chosen she's going to LOSE in normally blue states. If she doesn't get indicted first.
Even if (I highly doubt he would) Bernie himself agreed to run with her, that wouldn't help her out with many voters.

(13,685 posts)The more people get to hear Bernie, the more people that know Bernie and the more people that vote for Bernie.
All aboard! This train is fixing to roll!
