2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumReally, what nerve !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have a poster in another group that is worried about Bernie supporters.
They think we are throwing our money down on a losing cause.
They even stated they pity us.
Sad mean people.
Their candidate keeps sucking on the corporate teat and they pity us.
Bernie raises his money the honest way.
They know Hillary can not.

(45,251 posts)The American Revolution took about 8 years. I figure I'll re-assess in 8 years.

(10,622 posts)Not even realizing that they are prey, helping their very own predator. Quite sad in my mind, my pity is very sincere as is my belief that they are indeed unwary and deceived prey (well, except those that are wealthy and will share in the mouse feast at the end, sating their hunger of wealth as does the snake that has charmed them all).

Waiting For Everyman
(9,385 posts)that Bernie has staying power to the end via us small donors.
And that most of us aren't going to get anywhere near the donation limit, whereas her big fish are mostly tapped out. I don't think she can last a 50 state fight. And there are some pretty big states at the end, aren't there?
I can't think of a better cause right now.

(16,858 posts)Considering that there was an OP less than 24hr ago which suggested Bernie supporters were "privileged" and wouldn't be affected by a GOP president, and that's why we support Sen Sanders over Sec Clinton. Which is it? Sanders supports can't be privileged elite and poor people flushing money down a drain at the same time!

(24,329 posts)Though unnecessary
It would be throwing it away if I didn't believe in the candidate and his/her message
My money is not being thrown away on Donna Edwards, Alan Grayson, Dave McTeague and other progressive because I believe in their message.
I don't expect anything in return from any of them other then that they try and help build a better society
Unlike the large donors to some campaigns which expect influence and access
I'm donating, not investing

I will still feel it is money well spent - patriotic support for a nobler America, a lifelong memory of having held a grand dream of leaving an America for our grandkids, not a corporate-controlled serfdom. If it becomes reality, maybe my boy will be inspired by change that I helped create. If it doesn't come to pass, maybe it will be a big ripple in the pond, the flap of a butterfly's wings, that will make change we can't imagine.
