Well, color me SHOCKED. I just woke up to see that Bernie won in Michigan. WOW

I wrote in a post yesterday that I was still undecided when I walked into that cubicle clutching my ballot. I went with my heart--actually, I think it was my gut--and voted for Bernie Sanders.

It looks like a lot of folks did the same thing. I am happy. Well done, Michigan.

As for the Republicans in Michigan--what the fuckity fuck?

On edit, I just checked to see how the county I live in--Kent--voted. 62% Sanders to 37% Clinton. The rest of the state knocked out Detroit.

I live in Kalamazoo county.

That vote for Sanders, in a Conservative a place as Kent county, the home of DeVos and Amway, REALLY says something!

Kent is the reddest of the red in Michigan, usually. This, coupled with the fact that there are no more deep south states to vote, is good news.

He'll face an even more obstructionist congress than Obama. He has zero chance of ever seeing the White House anyway. The dems voting for him are just delaying the inevitable.

At least with Bernie we'll have an chance to start changing congress, whereas Hillary's congress would be an even deeper red.

There, there.. Bernie is a very nice man and will treat you well. You may want Clinton, but unfortunately they like to mistreat people like you.

brought up Congress, I'd add this: It's hard to imagine a MORE obstructionist (Republican controlled) congress than this one against Obama, but I can, if the Pres were Hillary, whom the Repubs possibly hate more.

Plus Bernie's coattails **might** bring in some Dems to Congress.

They'll be rising from the dead to vote against her. We are giving the dems a chance here.

For example, $100M in Community Health Center funding for the poor, back in '91.
And funding to provide healthCARE for 10 million uninsured poor as part of ACA, to help get it passed.

Which is a bucketload more than you can say for Hillary.

A Hillary presidency would be 24x7x365 impeachment hearings. We can do better!

because she will be giving the Republicans everything they want.

If you really believe that 1) Hillary is progressive & 2) she will not face Republican obstruction magnitudes stronger than Bernie would if she tried to have a progressive policy passed: then you are one misguided Hillary supporter (apologies for the redundancy.)

Congrats on Mississippi. Michigan was one hell of an upset though, wasn't it? Maybe we can give Nate Silver a DUzy for his royal lameness.

My grandma is buried in Belding. I have other connections in Newaygo County as well. Cousins, etc. Yeah, was talking with cousin Ron, near Grand Rapids and he is very Rethuglican. However, had good things to say about Bernie. So, I guess I'll keep him on my friends list at fb. LOL The family surname was Hopkins, BTW.
