Even More Clear After Tuesday: No One Gets to the Needed Number For Nomination

Out of curiousity, I looked over the list of open primaries for 2016... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_primaries_in_the_United_States

I don't see enough where Sanders can pick-up enough delegates before the Convention.

However, there are enough delegates in the remaining states that Hillary will also won't get the necessary delegates before the Convention.

Given the one thing that might sink us in 2016 is a nasty Convention fight, the key question becomes: "How do you want your Convention?"

Just how are we going to bring the party together?

There's an odd number of pledged delegates. pat_k Mar 2016 #2

And the answer needs to include more than just the Party. It has to include which candidate can demonstrate that they can win over independents, and can prevent Trump from taking constituencies that AREN'T already solidly Democratic.

Does the Party just want 'unity', or do they want to hold the White House?

Can't tie pledged delegates. Closest to tie is 2026 to 2025.

Unpledged delegates will be under enormous pressure to switch to winner. And some of Hillary's have already pledged to do just that.

Of course they could change their minds and perhaps decide to push it to her she's loses by one, but they'll get some serious blow back if they succeed.

obviously til the Convention.

Only Bernie is speaking of inclusiveness. We will need every voter to win in the GE so the party brass would be idiots to overlook the long term ramifications of pissing off Bernie supporters just because it's Hillarys turn.

I do think we're headed to a contested convention and I hope Dem party leadership is thinking hard about the future
