The Tarp that Bernie voted against did NOT include any language about an auto bailout.

Much Better Explanation from pdsimdars I copied from below.

Thom Hartmann explains it very clearly

There was a bill for the auto bailout. Bernie voted FOR it and Hillary voted FOR it.
It was filibustered by the Republicans.

There was ANOTHER bill for TARP2. It had NOTHING in it about the auto bailout. There was no disucssion in congress about the auto bailout regarding this bill. There was nothing in the media about the auto bailout and this bill
Bernie voted against it because he thought that the taxpayers should not be on the hook to bail out the banks. He thought they should pay for it themselves. But Hillary voted FOR the banks.

Then, when the bank bailout passed, Obama had a lot of latitude regarding how to allocate that money and HE put part of it to the auto bailout. Nothing had been said about it beforehand.

So, what Hillary said was a BIG FAT LIE. Bernie NEVER voted against the auto bailout. And yet, her supporters are sticking with it. That's why rational people keep shifting away from that nonsense.

The point of that was to smear Bernie. She can't do it on his actual record, so she will just make it up as she goes.

They are not as deceived as the AA community is about who their friends and enemies are. Even Republicans are aware that the trade deals wiped out their quality of life.

Too many people there recognized a dirty lie when they heard one.

her followers openly say they don't care about issues or honesty, just winning, and definitely not anything else you might do afterwards because anything she'd do is better than anything the Pubs'd do

a shameful, whimpering end for a once-great party

You don't seem to be making any sense at all.

TARP passed October 3, 2008

Shrub did not announce any plans to bail out the auto industry until December 19, 2008.

If you have some evidence that this was known before October 3, 2008 please provide it.

Thanks.

^snip^

With the government's decision to sell the last of its General Motors shares, it is worth taking a look back at the process as it went on over five years. Here are key dates:

Dec. 19, 2008. The Bush Administration announces plans to bail out Detroit's auto industry, notably General Motors and Chrysler Group.

Dec. 31, 2008. GM receives $13.4 billion in short-term financing through the Troubled Asset Relief Program.

and when it passed, clearly stated that TARP funds would not be used to bail out the auto industry. Then, a few months later, he changed his mind and coughed up enough to keep them limping towards bankruptcy.

It was the Obama admin in June who made the substantial move to rescue the industry.

Obama did some good things, and using that money for the auto bail out was one of them.

Some of us do remember 8 years ago, especially those in the areas most affected, now known affectionately and sadly as the rust belt for good reason. The rest of those states are still to come in the primaries.

Bernie should put out some clips from his opposition to NAFTA in the 1990s. It's all on C-SPAN. He and Fritz Hollings tried desperately to prevent that disaster. They argued that it would do exactly what it has done. They tried like hell to at least get equal labor standards inserted into it, which would have RAISED labor all over the world, but of course it failed (because of the money interests who had bought too many votes), and instead we had a race to the bottom which any objective person could've foreseen.

As for the public, they were still high on the Reagan fairy tales then. But now both Dems and Repubs living in those areas, have seen the effects with their own eyes and realize what was done to them and by whom. They know it's now or never to stand up to this, and that's why Bernie is the right guy for this time.
