"Wife of Bernie Sanders to meet with Apaches in Arizona"

SUPERIOR, Ariz. (AP) — The wife of Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders plans to meet with Apaches protesting a planned copper mine near Superior.

Sanders' campaign says Jane Sanders will meet with the San Carlos Apache Tribe and activists at the Oak Flat campground Sunday afternoon. She'll also tour areas that are culturally significant to Apaches.

The visit comes about a week before Arizona's presidential primary election.

Bernie Sanders introduced a bill in the U.S. Senate last year to reverse a land exchange that cleared the way for the mine.
