2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIn other news, Hillary had some other statements praising public figures.
She praised Rick Snyder for his leadership in dealing with the Flint water crisis.
She praised Chris Christie for taking charge and dealing with bridge gridlock in New Jersey.
She praised George W. Bush for his strong role in saving New Orleans from the damage of Hurricane Katrina.
She praised George Wallace for his leadership in ending segregation.
She praised Jerry Falwell for being a strong voice for marriage equality.
She praised Henry Kissinger for being a strong voice for human rights.
She praised Richard Nixon for being a man of integrity during the Watergate scandal.
Now I have to think of some more...

(72,790 posts)Since this is your OP, I think you should provide readers with links and quotes to back up your claims.
For the record, I loathe Mrs. Clinton, so I am not trying to be snarky, just think if one starts an OP, they should provide those links.

Acquiescence in, or excusing of, other people's homophobia is homophobic itself.

REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
Completely inappropriate and over the top attack. This is embarrassing to see people on DU spout this kind of hyperbole.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Sat Mar 12, 2016, 04:06 PM, and the Jury voted 2-5 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: In what universe is thoughtful discourse considered inappropriate, over-the-top, and hyperbolic? Dumb alert.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Alerter is guilty of the hyperbole she accuses the poster of.
Another example of the trigger finger defense from the Hillary camp.
Certainly giving them a bad rep.
Post was spot on, respectful, and well thought out.
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Opinions presented as facts whilst initially telling the poster to 'educate yourself' smacks of arrogance.
"Her true face is that of a silent homophobe who is willing to excuse the woman who perpetrated (as First Lady, with her husband) a genocide by not doing anything against the "gay cancer"'
This line is indicative of why this post needs to be hidden - it is both hyperbolic and subjective wrapped up in abusiveness that is misplaced on a forum aimed to promote Democrats. Completely misplaced understanding of what supporting a candidate is about and should not be encouraged further.
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: I vote hide very few times - but this time I vote "hide"
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: What. The. Holy. Fuck? Alerter; you are absolutely out of your mind, and in Total Hillary Defense Mode.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given

(7,231 posts)Clinton's supporters must be in full panic mode after surveying the first fall-out of Clinton's remarks. I cannot think of another explanation for their frantic efforts to "purge" DU.

(45,319 posts)pretend it is ok to claim Ron and Nancy Reagan were champions of the early AIDS crisis. We are being baited, attacked and smeared by Clinton supporters who are in panic mode having looked for every fault in Bernie's words with a magnifying glass for months as they realize their own candidate has said something so incredibly out of touch with equality, decency and the truth.
So most of DU is going to protect us from the bullies pushing bully shit.

(7,231 posts)"this is the part of the movie where the protagonists handles a machine gun as if it is a water hose, and hopes it hits something"
So yeah, I was grazed by a Hill-Billie-Bullet yesterday. As if their thin skinned idolatry of the Clintons will ever entice me to praise Nancy/ Hillary / other elitist out-of-touchers.
I won't be quiet, and I will attack the unworthy candidate with ever more vigor, especially after the coronation committee's apologist efforts yesterday.

What is funny and what is not is subjective. The OP is satirical.

(45,319 posts)Rick Warren called all same sex couples the same as pedophiles:
"And first, [applause] let me first say how relieved Bill and I were to hear that Saddleback was spared from the recent wildfires - and how impressed and moved we were to hear about the love and support that you gave those who were not so fortunate.
It's another example of the way in which this church is not measured by numbers. Yes, the numbers are big, they're certainly impressive. But it's measured by your impact. It's measured by the meaning that you give to lives here within this complex and so far beyond its boundaries. And the commitment that you demonstrate both to our faith in God and to doing His work here on earth is exemplary and that is one of the many reasons that I wanted to be here today.
You know, Rick has helped so many people with his lessons for a 40-day spiritual journey. But he knows those 40 days are just the beginning. "
http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/ws/?pid=77080
It's a speech 'about AIDS' no less. She says 'gay' just 4 times, and then she uses the word as part of her excuse making for straights Christians like herself who did nothing about it out of bigotry and fear:
"Twenty-five years ago, when men - mostly young gay men - began dying from a disease that had no name, we could not have, and certainly did not, talk about it in church. It would not have been proper. It would not have been polite. It would have been discomforting for so many of us."
Excuses her Christian peers for refusing to help those in need while thousands died. 'We could not have, it would not have been proper, it would have been discomforting for us' she says. Jesus said if you don't help the sick you do not know Jesus and you go to hell. Hillary says 'Oh, we couldn't because it would be discomforting to us'.
Is that better, because it is real?

Bush I and Bill Clinton were later on Larry King. Larry King made a comment about Bush II being criticized for the handling of Katrina. Bush I turned to Clinton and said you take this and he did.
ANYONE who could have watched that travesty unfold and then defend Bush ....
The anniversary of Katrina showed how the black communities look like a third world country. Yet the celebration went on.
