New York primary just five weeks away; Clinton, Trump hold solid leads in home state

It has received little publicity, but New York's presidential primary election is just five weeks away.

Voters will go to the polls on Tuesday, April 19, to allocate the state's delegates to the Democratic and Republican national conventions.

The most recent Siena College Poll, which was released on March 7, showed Clinton with a 21-point lead over Sanders on the Democratic side, 55 to 34 percent. Trump was 27 points ahead in the Republican primary, with Kasich and Rubio tied for second.

New York will send 291 delegates to this summer's Democratic convention in Philadelphia, second only to California's 548.
