In a hypothetical Clinton v. Trump contest in November, voters under 35 would choose Clinton by a crushing 52%-19%, a preference that crosses demographic lines. Among whites, she'd be backed by nearly 2-1, 45%-26%. Among Hispanics, by more than 4-1, 61%-14%. Among Asian Americans, by 5-1, 60%-11%. Among African Americans, by 13-1, 67%-5%.

The results were... not encouraging enough to try the same strategy when the White House is at stake. Is that a fair statement?

(29,798 posts)We should also probably consider the losing trend in governorships and state legislatures we've been experiencing.

(7,231 posts)Where do you think she got the ideas for all those dirty tricks of hers. These used to be the domain of Repoublicans only. But in returned for some secured seats (Ross-Lehtinen, R-FL) she may have been let in on the know-how.

Interesting data from the OP article

(39,961 posts)the politicos are getting to sew this up for Clinton.
They are so puzzled why a person that lost in 2008 isn't going to lose again in 2016.

(10,786 posts)For the last several months, all we have heard from the Hillarians is that it doesn't matter that Sanders is the only candidate who excites young voters because young voters never vote.
Now these same young voters who supposedly never vote are going to "flock to" a candidate who excites them as much as a trip to the dentist for a root canal?
Sure, they strongly prefer Clinton to Trump. They also strongly prefer rancid dog meat to Trump. That doesn't mean they are going to get off their asses to vote for rancid dog meat.

The only ones I know "flocking" to Hillary are aging low-information viters.
