Take a Deeeep Breath, Berners

Yes, I am new to DU but I have been around a long time and have been through campaigns since '72. Everything is proportional. She 'won' Iowa by .3 of a point yet if you look at an electoral map Iowa is hers. Similar problem with a slightly larger margin with her 'winning' Massachusetts. So what if she 'wins' Ohio? The delegates will be apportioned by percentages again. I await the results of Illinois and Missouri but if she 'wins' them too then so what? The worm will turn and the map does not favor her.

I will donate again tonight to Bernie and do everything I can to help nominate him because I believe he is the only person who can win in November and he is the candidate of my lifetime.

For all you Hillary supporters who blocked me on my 3rd post here because I did not understand the 'rules' about 'groups' you need not respond to this OP. Save your breath because you will need it in the future in the event you are defending yourselves for handing this to Trump.

Keep the Faith Berners. It ain't over, it's going to be a long haul and I'm in it for the Long Run.

I've been through campaigns as a voter since 1972 also. I keep hoping that we get a dove in the White House instead of a hawk; a dreamer and doer with a Congress to match. There are so many good things that we could do in the USA if instead of preaching exceptionalism we concentrated on doing the right things right.

I can't help but put the worst of the H supporters on here as the face of the candidate. I know I shouldn't. I don't want Bernie being judged by his supporters but it sure is hard not too. I think a craven candidate would attract the same types of people as supporters. Honestly, how hard would it be to meet someone only to find they were a Trump supporter, it would be very hard not to judge on that alone. But, we are fighting the good fight, we can't back down.

43. I've been looking at the delegate counts.
Tue Mar 15, 2016, 10:14 PM
Mar 2016

Nearly every site I have checked (if not EVERY site) is including the super delegates in their counts. CNN is also doing this somewhat frequently. Going by those numbers, she has more than double his delegates, overall. If, however, we remove the super delegates from the count, her lead becomes far less overwhelming. Still, I do expect that the numbers being repeatedly thrown up are going to convince a lot of people that Sanders is already out of this.

I have to admit, it's a struggle for me tonight. I am watching the Illinois numbers and they don't look good. Looks like we might pull off a win in Missouri, which would be some salve for our wounds, at least. Michigan was a huge upset, which, perhaps, made us a bit over-confident going forward. So each of tonight's defeats, I think, will seem far more significant than they actually are.

There's a number of states still to go, a number of votes still to take place. Particularly... California. The polls there seem to indicate a significant Clinton lead, but Sanders has demonstrated his ability to move forward, to come up from behind. From 3%, to a real challenger. From practically no money, to fund raising that has blown away previous records - most of which comes from regular people.

It will be harder now, a more uphill struggle than it was even before... but we have come up, come forward from so very much less - that I believe we can do this. Bernie Sanders is the man who represents my progressive ideals. Not only does he lead on climate change - he is the only candidate, period, who is giving it the attention and significance it deserves. Let's keep going, keep our enthusiasm and our faith strong until the convention.

Don't take the insults, the ignorance - or the contempt of others to heart. Let them laugh, let them tell us it's hopeless, that it's already over. As long as we remain true to our principles, to what we need, to what we believe in, to what we can do... we will keep this thing moving forward. Let's keep fighting for every vote, for every state and every delegate remaining. We can still do this. It is not mathematically impossible, it is not so severely unlikely as some "experts" are predicting.

I'm not going to give up, I'm not throwing in the towel, nor should anyone else. We can climb that hill, we can win this thing.

post. I agree completely. I keep saying she has nowhere to go. She cannot attract new voters and all those points going to Bernie are coming from her base. She might be ahead now but it is a very long and winding road and not for the faint of heart. Thanks again for your time and your support.

This is jus when things get going. Endurance. Tire out the goons who keep trying to beat you down. Fight on. That is the real American spirit.

it's just this ugly comments from the Hillary bullies it sorta takes ones breath away. We'll get back on our feet. besides we have 2 states too close to call and in the 3 states he lost he gained over 100 delegates , now how does that spell a winning strategy to have your opponent win 100 + delegates?? Mind you Obama wasn't settled until the last few weeks.

I will add another pledge to Bernie in addition to my monthly giving...If the 1%er thinks this over, she has another thought to think...

When HRH comes out ahead in a contested state, she barely squeaks by...Only in Republican states does she win by a wide majority...

If there is any justice in the world, Bernie will win...

I agree, as a proud member of the 99% that it is hard to beat the other team and the referees while playing on an uphill incline. My gut tells me we will prevail and I have a pretty good third eye.

The West has yet to be won. California has I think 564 delegates to the Democratic convention.

But I am very disappointed in Illinois and Ohio. What fools they are.

Do they really like Hillary's stance on fracking????

If she or Trump wins, it will be a sad day for the environment.

And no matter which would win, we would have war.

Go, Bernie!

Lots of Bernie bumper stickers in ABQ.

How do we know if we are banned from the Crown Jewel group?

Don't call me Nancy. OMG.
Lots of Bernie stickers in the East Mountains on my car....
Making a huuuuge sign for Bernie for the piece by the highway. Our neighbor CHAIN SAWED the huge one we made for Obama in '08. It was on 4x4's and was 8x4 feet, donated to us by an 80 year old lady here.

I got a really cold notice when I got kicked out and didn't know how to handle it. I inadvertently wandered into Nancy somebody's snake
pit and had no recourse as far as I could tell. If you are banned from the Crown Jewel Group it will likely happen after you have logged out and won't realize it until later. Just sayin...

Proud to say that I'd never DREAMED I'd ever give an amount such as I sent Bernie's way since he started his quest. Unlike sending money to support the Coronation, I look at it as an investment in my and my family's life - NOT a validation of all things corporate.

and we donate for the same reasons. Three millennials between us and a 6 year old. It's going to take all of us to make this happen and it is FOR all of us. Corporate America will lose this one.

Some of us seem to have forgotten that this was always supposed to happen. Michigan and Missouri are free candy, and it ain't over til it's over - in June, fer cry-sakes!

To those folks, I say: SNAP OUT OF IT!

I was surprised by the outcome, I thought Mr. Sanders would have won in at least two states. Just goes to show how the establishment is so powerful.

Very sad tonight, but let's hope this is not the end of Mr. Sanders Campaign, he needs to keep going. He is the person Americans need right now! Not Trump or Mrs. Clinton!

I totally agree. You just keep walking forward, that's all there is to it. They can throw all kinds of insults at you and discouragement, but you don't even have to listen to it. Just keep moving forward with your friends on the path for something you know is right.
Simple.
