Positive spin
C'mon folks, it's too bad Bernie isn't doing better, but the fact is that he probably lost because a lot of anti-establishment whites chose Trump over the socialist, equal rights loving, climate loving Sanders. The fact is that as things stand now, Bernie has forced the Democratic Party to the left by getting millions of millennials to take an interest in progressive politics. Bernie has real clout if he and his supporters play their cards right. The Democrats need the millennials not only to win the presidency, but to win other races as well, and to win the future. The fact that Trump took the anti-establishment bigots (who might have otherwise have gone to Bernie) is no great loss.
Bernie must stay in this race not just to try to win, but to wield his power at the Democratic convention and force concessions on the platform, in the way the party is structured, and in the way the party appoints people to leadership positions. Bernie has a chance to get some of his people into powerful and influential positions in the Democratic Party, so the party can return to its roots and build a future that makes it great again. Bernie is the best thing to happen to the Democratic Party since at least Bobby Kennedy. No one can take that away.
