As Bernie Sanders took the stage on Tuesday night, the cable networks continued doing what they do best -- talking.
Fox News, CNN and MSNBC all declined to carry Sanders' speech, instead offering punditry about the evening, with the chyrons promising, "AWAITING TRUMP" and "STANDING BY FOR TRUMP."
Hillary Clinton last week got similarly dissed by the networks in favor of Trump.
Earlier Tuesday, The Huffington Post's Michael Calderone reported that the media have collectively given Trump some $2 billion worth of free air time.

(2,603 posts)The oligarchs have worked for decades to make us try to bend the spoon. There is no spoon.
Tonight I watched 10 hours of the MSM and learned two things.
Donald Trump has won nearly everything by huge margins and has a massive lead, however, there are many ways he can be beaten and a candidate that has won only 1 state has a real path to victory.
Bernie Sanders has won many states and has far more delegates than anyone could imagine him getting, polling looks good for him from here on out, but there is no way he can win.
Yeah, there is no fucking spoon.

(2,145 posts)I expected something from Bernie and would have stuck with CNN but finally got tired of the talky, talky, talky and turned the channel. I haven't gone back. Law and Order is better than CNN, FOX, and MSNBC at this point. I'm sort of done with it. Still backing Bernie of course.

If they've given Trump $2 billion of free time, how much have they profited? More, I guess. Screw fairness.
I wish there were a real news channel that covered the candidates equally, and examined their records like journalists ought to do. But I guess that's for real and open democracies....
