Empire State Shock Poll -Clinton 71% Sanders 23%

In the Democratic primary, Clinton is ahead of Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders by 48 points, taking 71% of the vote to Sanders’s 23%. The former Secretary of State holds a massive advantage in key demographic groups, including men (66% to 29%), women (73% to 20%), African Americans (72% to 22%) and Hispanics (85% to 8%). Younger voters, ages 18-34, favor Sanders, but by a slimmer margin (53% to 40%) than in many primary states. Among all other age groups, Clinton dominates, leading by 45 points (ages 35-54), 50 points (ages 55-74), and 67 points (ages 75+).

Clinton and Sanders have similar favorability numbers with likely Democratic primary voters. Her favorable/unfavorable ratio is 82%/15% (+67); his is 63%/26% (+37). However Clinton garners far more loyalty: 85% of those who view her favorably plan to vote for her in the primary, while only 31% who have a favorable view of Sanders intend to vote for him.

For the entire poll overall, democrats and republicans, they have 36% Democrats, 54% Republicans, 10% Indy's. Am I missing something?

The Emerson College Polling Society poll was conducted from March 14-16, 2016. The GOP primary
consisted of 298 likely primary voters,
with a margin of error of +/-5.6%, and the Democratic primary
consisted of 373 likely primary voters, with a margin of error of +/-5%
. The General Election sample
consisted of 768 likely general election voters, with a margin of error of +/-3.5%. Data was collected
using an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system of landlines only and weighted by 2012 federal
general election returns. The full methodology and results can be found at www.theecps.com

I think it is just the reality of Bernie being an unknown until recently and many people being influenced by tv. The medium is the message? We should have expected this. Doesn't mean Bernie should not have run. He's the agent of change whether he wins or not

Well she is very well regarded here in NY. It's been her home state for many years now.

Many, including myself, remember her time as our senator very fondly.

Not too surprising. If Trump thinks that he can carry NY he's even more self deluded.

("The Big Apple" is another tip-off that you're a tourist. Or a fucking tourist, just to put it in proper New Yorkese.)

To me it's Nueva York. I'm hearing something different on the ground than your "likely primary voters" would have it. But who the fuck knows, right?

By the way, long as you're stealing New York sports icons for political purposes, have you actually found out that Joe Namath, Reggie Jackson and Tom Seaver all support Clinton? Why do I doubt this particular bit of shameless pandering?

Either the sports stars or the Jamaica icons?

Unless they do, okay, you can also run a bunch of flags or pictures of puppies, that doesn't mean anything either.

I believe the OP was just puffing up New York itself and some of its iconic people.

As a lifelong Red Sox fan and Hillary supporter, I'm having to suck up some of this NY schmaltz, but it's an imperfect world.

Sadly, I believe Tom Terrific and Broadway Joe are Republicans. I don't know the political leanings of Mr. October.

I do suspect Metta World Peace , Lamar Odom, and the late Mario Cuomo are/would be supporting Madame Secretary.

Oh, thanx for kicking my thread.
