Ahead of Phoenix Rally, Sanders Abruptly Ends 12 News interview

Apparently, Sanders got annoyed, took off his mic and just left in the middle of the interview. IMO, he gets annoyed a bit too easily and often and doesn't handle questioning too well. Not a good quality in a POTUS candidate.

PHOENIX - Sen. Bernie Sanders is returning to Phoenix for another rally on Saturday night, and we sat down with him Thursday. Briefly.

We met up with Sanders before a Thursday speech at the Twin Arrows Casino on the Navajo Nation.

We discussed his wife's recent visit to Tent City, his votes on gun legislation, border issues, and why he's optimistic about his chances in Arizona.

Then the senator abruptly ended the interview, saying our time was up.

The full interview will air this weekend on Sunday Square Off at 8 a.m.

Do you actually condone a candidate's pulling off his mic and storming off in the middle of an interview? Is there anything you can admit is a valid criticism of this candidate? Does demeanor factor into your considerations of a potential president's ability to govern all the people, even those who disagree with him? Or his ability to conduct delicate foreign policy discussions with foreign leaders? Is all-out-angry a desirable character trait in a leader for you?

Fri Mar 18, 2016, 03:26 PM

or you really don't know the first thing you're talking about.

But just for the benefit of everyone else, I was referring to the infamous Barry Goldwater speech saying "Extremism in the pursuit of Liberty is no vice, and moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue." Johnson used this to portray him as an unstable extremist, and Goldwater would go on to spectacularly lose the general election.

So, to bring this around, your echoing a similar thought process in the light of the aforementioned election should not inspire confidence in your candidate's ability to win.

Since I'm such a nice guy, I'll even allow you to just pretend you were being obtuse all along. Secret's safe with me.

Barry Goldwater's version of principles is quite a bit different.

I realized perfectly who you were referring to. I was making the point that principles, however inexpedient, are, in my opinion, a good thing for a politician to have. And, stick to.

Whereas, lack of principles in favor of political expediency usually leads to filling the offices of power with unprincipled occupants....like LBJ, Nixon, and Hillary.

Or, we could abandon principles entirely and simply install calculators to run the country by "running the numbers" on the necessity of humanity or thought.

This is what the media does. Something "controversial" happens, and they edit footage to make it look as bad as possible. When the full interview comes out we'll get to see exactly why Bernie ended that interview.

I was in D.C. with a group of students for a high school competition. We met with our representative and senators. Herb Kohl was with us for over an hour. Feingold came in and said we had 15 minutes before he had to get back to the floor. At 15 minutes he left in the middle of questions. Was it cool to be with a senator for over an hour? Sure. But it was clear Feingold took his job seriously.

Serious question. He clearly didn't like the line of questioning, so he exercised one of the options interviewees have over interviewers. He's done it for years.

How does that automatically equal being weak?

Local news in Phoenix is a fucking joke. It was a gotcha interview trying to tie Jane Sanders in some sort of sick way to Joe Arpaio. Typical Clinton rat-fucking move.

He answered the questions, set the record straight, and moved on at the end of the time allotted.

That so many recently off time out Clinton sycophants here are trying to make it what it wasn't shows me he did the right thing and that this will have ZERO affect on anything here in Arizona.
