Hopefully someone can explain this to me

As chair of my town's Democratic party, I've been asked to pick up a bracketing/authorization letter. What is this? I know that the County Committee is endorsing one candidate, but I support the other in the Presidential primary. This year all district leaders are up for re-election/election.

Is this for each local candidate, or for the Township's party?

I'd like to be prepared for when I pick them up; I don't want to blow my stack and get into trouble as I'm wont to do when I feel like I'm being coerced. I was OK with it when I was told that all candidates would be on this one line and advised my district leaders that if they don't support the candidate that they will be bracketed with, that they can run as a write in and will still be on the committee. But if I have to personally declare that I support a candidate that I don't, I may have to step down or start an insurgency....which I'm really too weary to do.

Can you provide an example? I googled bracketing/authorization letter, but found nothing that helped.

That's why I asked.
I guess I'll find out on the 26th when I pick them up.
Maybe we can be bracketed (the town's County Committee) independent of any specific candidate.

Ah, it's a Declaration of Candidacy.
We've never had to do it before.
