(6,338 posts)I thought the only way to stop a bad delegate with a gun was a good delegate with a gun.
Their principles would say "yes - convention should be open carry". And if they were really serious about it, they would make it a part of their contract with the Cleveland Convention Center.
Of course we know that won't be the case because, in spite of all their post shooting rhetoric, they know as well as everyone else that gun free zones are the safest areas for crowds with differing opinions.

(1,603 posts)They know their plan to reduce crime by arming everyone is stupid. If they thought it really would work, they'd be doing it.
There's no way a skittish coward like Donald Trump would go to an event where people were packing heat. Did you see him panic when a protester jumped the barricade.

Outside the convention? That is another story entirely.
In places other than the convention hall - hotels, bars and restaurants, it will play out across Chicago.
Those that want to compare 2016 to 1968 need to keep in mind that in '68 most people weren't likely to be armed.
