2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhat if Bernie wins 51% of New York's delegates?
There are 2,033 pledged delegates remaining to be allocated, and Bernie needs 1,179 of them, or 58%. That means he has to win every state by an average of 58%.
If Bernie gets only 51% of New York's 247 delegates, then he has to find a combination of other states which add up to 247 or more (for example Pennsylvania and Connecticut, 250 delegates total, which vote the following week), and win those states by 64%.
If he only gets 51% in those states as well, then he needs to find another such combination of states (say Indiana, West Virginia, Kentucky, Oregon, and Montana, 247 delegates total), and win those states by 72%.
And so on. Except not, because there are no more states after Montana.
