One sees the double standard and tends to assume that there must be some motivation for such glaring inconsistencies.

(4,119 posts)What Bernie people need to realize is that our leaders represent the people. When the consciousness of the people raises, so will our leaders. So, don't hold out for a Gandhi like leader. When you consider the popularity of Trump, the people are way more ignorant than I ever even imagined.
Hillary is not perfect...nobody is perfect...but she's experienced and I think she wants to do good. If the Clintons were all about money, they wouldn't bother with politics.
We had high hopes for Obama...and then saw what the GOP congress did. They will do the same thing with Bernie and all his promises would be lost. They'll do the same thing to Hillary but she has more fight in her.

(61,588 posts)Read on DU in recent weeks (may not be exact quotes, but this is how I remember them) -
"Hit her with a two by four!"
"Hillary, fuck yourself with a brick!"
"I'm wishing harm on Hillary supporters and their children."
What's going on here? I've been on DU since 2004 and I've never seen these kinds of posts, except by trolls posted during unmaskings, right before they were banned.

(10,476 posts)The Clinton campaign did not place value on those states and instead focused on Arizona. The result? Sanders' 2 states to her 1 net him a +6.
Sanders campaign is 1 strep forward, 2 steps back the entire run. He'll make up a few in the next few states, then get clobbered in NY.
Bluenorthwest
(45,319 posts)States he'd selected to campaign less heavily in? Some States are superior to others, is that your theory?

(10,476 posts)Do you think either presidential candidate will visit Idaho in the fall? Alaska? Wyoming? No.
Btw, what was the other aspect you wanted to discuss? Spending?
Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont cut a version of his anti-trade deal ad for North Carolina, focusing on the states furniture and textile industries. He is outspending Hillary Clinton by nearly a 2-to-1 ratio in the state.
Hillary won NC, 59-46 (delegates).
Sanders invested heavily in Arizona. He more than doubled Clintons ad spending there, dropping $1.3 million on television advertising over the past week compared to Clintons $600,000. And he campaigned in the state on virtually every one of the past seven days.
Hillary won NC, 43-27 (delegates, 5 outstanding).

(16,184 posts)Iowa and Nevada were abortions of democracy, and Democrats in the Deep South didn't count because they're red states, but now caucuses in Idaho, Utah, Nebraska, and Kansas are great victories.
