All-out warfare is about to break out between Bernie Sanders’ supporters and the political press

Mark my words: We’re going to face a very ugly few weeks on social media. The nastiness will begin this weekend and last through April 26, when five states will hold primaries with a big delegate haul in the balance.

Here’s why: We have five states coming up in which Bernie Sanders will probably do very, very well. It’s not inconceivable that he could sweep them all. But even a sweep won’t change the structure of the race in any way. Three of the five (Hawaii, Wyoming and Alaska) are states with relatively few delegates. The Democratic contests are all proportional, so Hillary Clinton will get a share of delegates even if she gets shut out.......

Serious reporters know that the next five contests will shave some delegates off of Clinton’s healthy lead – she’s currently up by 303 pledged delegates according to Real Clear Politics‘ count – which still leaves her well ahead as the fight for the nomination moves to friendlier ground for the Clinton campaign.

Journalists with knowledge of the calendar won’t report that Sanders is turning the race on its head. They won’t report that it’s a whole new ballgame, or that a win in Alaska predicts a victory in Maryland. They won’t report that Sanders is surging.

A lot of Sanders supporters will want them to cover these victories in sweeping terms, and write that the momentum has shifted, but they won’t. They won’t report these things because they aren’t true, or at least because there will be no reason to expect them to prove true at the time (one never knows what might happen in the future). If Sanders had swept five early contests and gained a lead in the delegate count, it might have caused primary voters in later states who leaned toward Clinton to re-evaluate their choice. But we’re more than halfway through the campaign, opinions are becoming set and when the candidates get to New York, Clinton will still be up by at least a couple of hundred pledged delegates.

They LOVE Donald Trump. Can't get enough of him. It's wall-to-wall Trump, everywhere on the MSM.
They LOVED the "Tea Party", and could never, in all the years, explain the funding. Or even mention the funding.
They LOVE a scandal, the sexier the better.

Martin O'Malley was just too fucking boring for them. Not worth even a couple of words en passant, he was so boring. Ugh. Policy. Substance. A person would have to think!

One thing for certain, none of them will discuss the PAC and direct political donations of their paymasters. None of 'em. That's taboo.

The most "liberal" of them has "We're all neocons now!" Chris Matthews on in prime time, as a marker of depth.
Starts out with "Morning Joe".

I dunno if it's "all out warfare" - seems more like derision. I wonder why you can't see it?

16. This article is so naive about the Corrupt Media that all of its assertions...

...are called into question.

Example:

A lot of Sanders supporters will want them to cover these victories (in the next states) in sweeping terms, and write that the momentum has shifted, but they won’t. They won’t report these things because they aren’t true... --from the OP

They 'report' things that are untrue every day! And they fail to report important things that ARE true every day--even more so. If Bernie has a wave of victories, they will barely report it and will do so with their mouths hanging down in cartoons of "Ugh!". Then back to Trump, Trump, Trump! A little glitter of Hillary. Then more Trump, Trump, Trump, isn't it all lamentable? and what's happening to the Republican Party, that once reliable party that gave us big tax cuts and the Iraq War?

Sanders supporters HAVE NO EXPECTATION that the Corrupt Media will do anything but move along quickly in the other direction from a Sanders surge.

The Corrupt Media CREATED the Donald Trump candidacy. We had two insurgent, anti-establishment candidacies to start with, and they gave one 24/7, 7 days a week, coverage of Trump blowing hoogies at the their cameras, and completely black-holed the other one: Bernie Sanders, who, in national polls is now beating their ugly pet, Trump, BY 26 POINTS!

Trump was their invention. And Trump's getting tromped by Bernie Sanders, who doesn't exist!

And, besides all this, the article is simply lying about what could happen if Sanders wins the next five states in a blowout. Campaigns and elections are emotional events. They often don't follow the rules of "serious reporters" for the Corrupt Media. And in this year of insurgencies, they are already not following the rules, in a big way, and they will continue not to follow the rules.

"Serious reporters" don't have a clue what is happening in this country. And they have gotten completely undermined by internet journalists who support Bernie Sanders, by voters who get their info from each other on social media and by Sanders' brilliant small-donor-only fundraising on the internet. Flummoxed. Cast aside. Ignored. Their time is done. Because, if Sanders does have a big surge, we will NOT be dependent on these Corporate liars to get the word all over the country and the world, instantly, by our own action.

This article is clueless.

They Fed the beast, and didn't like the results, but aren't sure how to stuff back in the box without unplugging it. The difference is, one is a program - the other is a living, breathing, monster drawing ratings to their fake news station. And since they've already proven they're not about reporting news, but manufacturing their opinion of it, all that's left is how much they can sell it for.

They buried him from the beginning and they
will do so to the end; just in between they
tried to ridicule or derate him a bit.

Our media are so wonderful, just wait until
they will bury HRC after the nomination.

You know that they are in the pockets of the
big corporations and therefore go after
any dem, as long as they can keep the
horserace going for a bit for drama?

I am sure that you do.

The Sanders campaign didn't get this far because of any help from the media, and it's obvious that everything they say about him or HRC is pure spin as hard as they can spin it. They're only looking to keep the corrupt cash flowing in their direction.

Media are the BIG BENEFICIARIES of much of the campaign cash that has to be raised for every election. The last thing they want to ever see is campaign finance reform. So how much do you think they want HRC to win?

My way of financing elections would be this... I think big media should have to give air time to elections FOR FREE as a condition of being given a license by the public to use the public air waves.

I also think the MSM should be broken up and re-regulated just like the banks.

It's nice you take so much comfort in things like that.

Just think: billionaires prefer Hillary.

See? You got money, power, and influence all lined up behind your candidate.

Bernie, all he's got going for him is truth and a whole lot of people who've been screwed over by money, power, and influence.
