Clinton email probe enters new phase as FBI interviews loom

"Federal prosecutors investigating the possible mishandling of classified materials on Hillary Clinton’s private email server have begun the process of setting up formal interviews with some of her longtime and closest aides, according to two people familiar with the probe, an indication that the inquiry is moving into its final phases.

Those interviews and the final review of the case, however, could still take many weeks, all but guaranteeing that the investigation will continue to dog Clinton’s presidential campaign through most, if not all, of the remaining presidential primaries"

And then there's this...

"No dates have been set for questioning the advisors, but a federal prosecutor in recent weeks has called their lawyers to alert them that he would soon be doing so, the sources said. Prosecutors also are expected to seek an interview with Clinton herself, though the timing remains unclear."

There was a time, back when this story broke, that pundits were saying the mere idea of Hillary being compelled to give an interview with the feds would be a disqualifier.

How is that! The main stream media never talks about it! If they had treated watergate the same way as this, Nixon would have never been forced to resign.

I don't hate Hillary and I am not hoping for an indictment or scandal to derail her campaign so Sanders can get the nomination. However, if something like that is going to happen, I hope it happens before it is too late for primary voters to consider it. Can you imagine if John Edwards had been the nominee in 2008, and then the scandal broke when it did (sometime in June, I believe after the last primary)?

Just hang in there Bernie she will be irreparably harmed by this. All her own doing! The evidence is significant and overwhelming unless the WHITEWASH hardcore goes into effect real soon. Which will be of no help. People are NOT THATTTT stupid!

Republican nominee will bring it up daily, then the media will fall all over themselves covering the story.

Why has she not dropped out for the good of the party? As we are told every day on DU a good Democrat always puts the party first.

Oh wait, shit.

Time to send out another round of "experts" claiming Clinton will never be indicted.

Interesting battle of FBI leaks and Clinton-friendly "experts" this week.

I got a hide a few months ago for using a "wrong" source for the Hillary-FBI-investigation story. (There was somebody on its Board connected to a Moonie, or some such obscure "invalidating" reason.)

Just goes to show: the truth is the truth no matter the source. And all the RW-site! handwringing is just a ruse to hide it.

Many legal experts believe that Clinton faces little risk of being prosecuted for using the private email system to conduct official business when she served as secretary of State, though that decision has raised questions among some about her judgment.

They may drag this along, and maybe she should have used a different email setup, but not going to be a criminal issue. Fortunately, she has experience dealing with manufactured distractions while focusing on the business at hand.
