The republican official they are questioning right now 12:30 PST is SO OUT OF THEIR DEPTH.

Update:
Now they are interrupting the line of questions jesus fucking wept. This is making me sick. Fucking republicans on a state level are ruining this country.

(27,762 posts)Claims that he knows 4000 Bernie Sanders supporters who had their registrations changed (!), that the Democrats didn't inform anyone of early voting (given the number of early votes cast, this cannot be true), and so forth. Why doesn't he stick to the actual facts of the diminished polling places? (He also whined that he had to order pizza twice during a five-hour wait). Many, many of the concerns are legitimate, but this guy is not helping his cause any (don't know his name - black and white t-shirt, bearded, was trying to demand they pull up a YouTube video on Phoenix Rising, going after Hillary instead of the people who actually down the number of voting places, etc.)

(61,418 posts)You defended this by saying that people are understandably upset. Does that justify twisting this deplorable situation into an attack on Hillary? Seems counterproductive to me. Hillary didn't do this - although she was accused of that for days by nutty people here and the nut on the videotape.
Focus, people. We're supposed to be the smart ones. The Republicans are shutting down polling places, not us.

(11,076 posts)Hillary didn't do it but she has not spoken out about the problem. That is an issue but not what these folks are talking about.

(61,418 posts)Bernie didn't seem to care until it affected him personally.
Hillary cares about voter suppression in all states.

(11,076 posts)This problem undermines the entire election process. All candidates should respond. This is a current event of magnitude. Make excuses all you want but at the end of the day....take it up with Hillary.

(61,418 posts)The Democratic precincts in Marcopa County were the ones given inadequate polling places.
Make no mistake. This is a national Republican strategy to suppress the Democratic vote. It's being enacted state by state.
It's a big, big problem.

(1,168 posts)She keeps saying the state (her office) has no statutory authority over counties' behavior. The press--thank heavens--are grilling her and telling her that that sounds like BS.
Press are citing statutes back at her, and pointing out that even if she didn't have statutory authority, she surely has responsibility to point out potential problems with county plans.
The press are also pointing out that this wouldn't have happened if Arizona had still been held under federal voting oversight due to a Voting Rights Act provision. (The Supreme Court stripped that provision in 2013.)
