If they followed their respective state or the popular, they would be irrelevant.

If they just use unfettered discretion, they are undemocratic.

Wish they were done away with.

Basically, I think they should be reserved to step in if the nominee has a heart attack on the way to the convention or something of that nature.

Though I wonder if these additional delegates are divided by state in appropriate ratios, or if that changes basic representation...
