As we all know, millennials don't care much for Hillary Clinton. That's okay. I'm on the other side of that particular fence, but there's plenty of room for honest differences about her views and whether they're right for the countrydifferences that I don't think are fundamentally rooted in age.
But there's one issue where I suspect that age really does trip up millennials: the widespread belief that Hillary isn't trustworthy. It's easy to understand why they might think this. After all, Hillary has been surrounded by a miasma of scandal for decadesand even if you vaguely know that a lot of the allegations against her weren't fair, well, where there's smoke there's fire. So if you're familiar with the buzzwordsWhitewater, Travelgate, Vince Foster, the Rose law firm, Troopergate, Ken Starr, Benghazi, Emailgatebut not much else, it's only human to figure that maybe there really is something fishy in Hillary's past.
But many of us who lived through this stuff have exactly the opposite view. Not only do we know there's almost literally nothing to any of these "scandals," we also know exactly how they were deliberately and cynically manufactured at every step along the way. We were there, watching it happen in real time. So not only do we believe Hillary is basically honest, but the buzzwords actively piss us off. Every time we hear a young progressive kinda sorta suggest that Hillary can't be trusted, we want to strangle someone. It's the ultimate proof of how the right wing's big lie about the Clintons has successfully poisoned not just the electorate in general, but even the progressive movement itself."

(1,217 posts)and remember well the never ending lapses of judgement that were reported by the press.
You don't remember her 2 for 1 stuff? She was a lawyer, had never been elected to any public office and pranced into the White House as if SHE had been elected. It did not fly. She had such an attitude of ALWAYS getting her way--Hillarycare BEHIND closed doors, the coverup and handling of Bill's indiscretions--a bunch of them---inserting herself into the middle of every issue. God, she never did anything productive.
I don't trust her as far as I can throw my house. I have three millennials and know many, many more. It's sad you seem to have no respect for them and that is probably easily perceived by them because if they get a whiff of insincerity (BS) they are outta here. They don't waste their time and have better things to do with their time.
Don't blame them for HRC's failures. They see through things and you might want to take that into consideration whenever you have to deal with those 'young progressives'
because they are the ones who are going to be in charge before much longer.

(26,549 posts)How did the VRWC create "DOMA was to fight off an amendment that no one had proposed"?
How did the VRWC create "Marriage is a sacred bond between a man and a woman.....until it isn't".
How did the VRWC declare the TPP "the gold standard" and then "not good enough"?
How did the VRWC create "Nancy Reagan did tons for HIV/AIDS"?
The VRWC created pseudo-scandals. And Clinton lies a lot. The first does not make the second disappear.

(35,619 posts)...Hillary Clinton portrayed Bernie Sanders as a supporter of financial deregulation and the Minute Men militia, and an opponent of the Auto Bailout and the Clean Energy program.
Because she's dishonest.
