(30,481 posts)The only difference is that we have much better odds against Trump.
I didn't know anyone was denying that it will suck if a republican were to win. Trump perfectly represents the base of the party.

(8,760 posts)Bush would have been the nominee if not for Trump.

(30,481 posts)Of course a Trump Presidency would suck. Just like a Cruz one would. Didn't know that was in question.

(14,023 posts)The Clintons CONTINUE to put the country at risk with their greed, ambition and poor judgment.

(82,383 posts)wins are not guaranteed.
But they are certainly more likely where the opponent has no experience and is a clown.

(37,748 posts)I'd encourage Palin as Trump's running-mate as well, as both are simply so beatable in a general; though no doubt, some dogmatic political-hack would see my encouragement as a sinister cabal, conspiratorial even.
Imagination is a fine thing... as long as we see it for the fiction it is. Should we accept the creative speculation as concrete though, we hold hands with the moon-landing deniers.

(10,476 posts)Let's face it, Trump as the GOP nominee will cripple their party for a generation. If that was the long con being played by the Clintons in getting Trumpy to run, I'd celebrate it as the greatest Machiavellian move ever.

Dems to Win
(2,161 posts)If Hillary is nominated and we really do have a Trump-Clinton race, I'm going to try to develop new hobbies and give up on following presidential politics. I hate reality TV, and I'm convinced that's all a Clinton-Trump race would be -- a reality TV show that ends with Hillary in the White House.
The more outrageous Trump is, the more he pushes people who 2 years ago would have said they would NEVER vote for Hillary into voting for her in the fall. It's the only way she can plausibly win, so that's the theater show Bill and Donald are producing.
I'm also convinced that the powers that rig the voting machines will do so on Hillary's behalf. She's the Establishment choice, by far. The outcome is not in doubt.
I'm so certain of my cynical views that if Hillary actually becomes the nominee, it won't be worth paying attention anymore.

(19,926 posts)And that's a disgusting thought... that politics have devolved to that.
