2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumShifting Goalposts on the Superdelegates
I have heard half a dozen different plans from the sanders people on how the superdelegates should swing since the primaries got started so many months ago. Sure, its unfair to have SDs counted before people vote. It was unfair in 2016, just as it was in 2008. But still, the Sanders people's support of which rules the SDs need to abide by has changed so many times, its difficult to keep track of. First it was the PD winner, then the popular vote winner, then the winner of the state the represent, etc ect ect. Any time Sanders loses with that plan, it moves on to something else. I remember Clinton doing the same thing in 2008: 'If i sweep texas i should be the nominee", then "if i win north carolinia i should be the nominee" then "if i win the popular vote, with michigan and florida included, i should be the nominee".
Every path Sanders has proposed to the nomination, he fails, and they throw out something else. Now it is May poll numbers against trump. The goal posts have moved off the field, outside of the stadium, down the street, and are now in a different town from where they started.

The supers are not stupid. They see what's coming and they will vote for Bernie. Just repeat after me: They will vote for Bernie.

(3,072 posts)Like Clinton's email indictment, its coming any day now. Its been coming any day now since mid-2015. And yet, nothing. I fell for the Sanders supporters claims that hillary's demise was imminent once or twice but now I think you guys are full of shit and have no clue what is going on.

(13,685 posts)At the convention 50 days from now is when the supers vote. You are one of those who think it's in the bag. Well, we're letting the cat outta the bag.
You should delete your nasty comment before the PTB gets wind of it and gives you a hide? But know that such comments show your argument to be a losing one.

(3,072 posts)Maybe you guys can convince 270 to switch their allegiance from the president elect to Sanders? Seriously, when does this shit end? I highly doubt that you guys would give up on Sanders being the nominee, even after the convention nominates hillary. Maybe Sanders should just start his own government and proclaim himself to be president of it? To be fair, he has won solid victories in the primaries in the States of Delusion and False Hope
