The PRESS responds to Hillary's EPIC speech today, and it is awesome. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2016/6/2

from Daily Kos:

___ The press and blogosphere reacted to the speech, and it has been awesome to behold...

Hillary’s speech today has resonated strongly across the press and media landscape, and it is almost exclusively positive. This seems like a watershed speech, a moment in time when the General Election truly started, and it starts off fittingly with a righteous take down of Donald Trump.

Sure it sounds great!! The 5-10 second blurbs for the cable news shows are awesome....but it wasn't a speech....it was barely an address.

Hillary's been historically bad at producing "soundbite" quotes, preferring to explain things in detail, which her critics lambaste her for as "waffling". But when she makes the most "soundbite" speech possible, guaranteeing coverage on every major news network for the next week and giving a wealth of material to use for ads, she's criticised for that too.

23. a PERSON responds to HRC's speech
Fri Jun 3, 2016, 07:37 AM
Jun 2016

Here are some excerpts from her speech yesterday:

"And if America doesn’t lead, we leave a vacuum – and that will either cause chaos, or other countries will rush in to fill the void. Then they’ll be the ones making the decisions about your lives and jobs and safety – and trust me, the choices they make will not be to our benefit.
That is not an outcome we can live with."

She will continue the current wars and promote the US 'policing' the rest of the world...

"Third, we need to embrace all the tools of American power, especially diplomacy and development, to be on the frontlines solving problems before they threaten us at home." ... "Now we must enforce that deal vigorously. And as I’ve said many times before, our approach must be “distrust and verify.” The world must understand that the United States will act decisively if necessary, including with military action, to stop Iran from getting a nuclear weapon. In particular, Israel’s security is non-negotiable. They’re our closest ally in the region, and we have a moral obligation to defend them."

When did the US need to become more imperialistic? when did this become a progressive / liberal position?

"Fifth, we need a real plan for confronting terrorists. As we saw six months ago in San Bernardino, the threat is real and urgent. Over the past year, I’ve laid out my plans for defeating ISIS.
We need to take out their strongholds in Iraq and Syria by intensifying the air campaign and stepping up our support for Arab and Kurdish forces on the ground."

Now she's throwing Obama under the bus? 'we need a real plan for confronting terrorists'? Obama doesn't have a real plan being acted upon currently?

"And one more thing. A President has a sacred responsibility to send our troops into battle only if we absolutely must, and only with a clear and well-thought-out strategy. Our troops give their all. They deserve a commander-in-chief who knows that."

Where does Libya fall into the category of 'well thought out'?

I'm tired of wars that lack planning in the aftermath, the conclusion and reconstruction...
I'm tired of $$ being tossed out the window without clarity and an audit
I'm tired of lack of reporting on the longest war the US has ever been involved in...

'Does her speech make you question the platform policy of war hawk she's proposing?'

To your pivot, I'd answer with neither... I'd NOT vote based upon both their positions on this single issue

Are you a single issue voter? Or can DEM folks be critical of candidates when their issues don't match up with DEM party positions?

If that were the case HRC wouldn't be pointing out other issues, but she is so there's that to contend with as opposing your point

why you or any DEM would be embracing war hawk positions is stunning, then these pivots away from actual discussion on that point is telling

First Trump came for the Muslims, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Muslim

Then Trump came for the Hispanics, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Hispanic.

Then Trump came for the Asians, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Asian.

Then Trump came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

showed important clips from her speech and contrasted them with Trump's weak "she needs to go to jail" non-response. There is no mistaking the effect of her speech in San Diego. She has exposed Donald Trump for the low-vocabulary, low-idea buffoon that he is.

I hope she continues to attack Trump in similar ways on all important issues, not just foreign affairs. I'm sure she will be greatly encouraged by the reception of yesterday's speech and will extend that to her other speeches.

Trump simply doesn't have the intelligence or the vocabulary to counter Hillary. He's a fool, an idiot and a clown. Easy prey for Hillary Clinton.
