Rachel Maddow: Hillary might clinch this weekend!!!!

Puerto Rico votes this weekend, which won't put her over the top by itself, but if she gets a few more superdelegate commitments along with the PR win, then she could be over the top before Tuesday's vote even begins.

Exciting! We're almost home!

They can't truly commit until the convention, but should be canned. morningfog Jun 2016 #2

presumptive nominee as soon as possible before the convention? I agree that the super delegates are more 'old school' convention tactic and less democracy, but even without them, it seems that a party who can decide on their candidate early is at an advantage in the general.

That nothing prevents enough super delegates from coming on board for her and pushing her over the target. She is something like 73(?) delegates away.

And the AP will call it. They did it with Trump. They will do it with HRC.

If she is within a handful of delegates from clinching after PR votes on Sunday, I would not be surprised if several SDs commit on Monday and Tuesday to effectively end the race before any polls close on Tuesday.

I am so ready for this primary season to end. It's been excessively and unnecessarily divisive.

That I no longer be correcting the BSers when they (invariably) get the rules wrong about delegates, particularly super delegates. For several reasons:
1) Bernie is irrelevant; so if his supporters can't do math, so what;
2) The old saw about teaching a pig to sing/dance;
3) It's exhausting continually explaining it;
4) I can let it slide until next Tuesday.

the better for all of us I think. It's been a LONG, crazy season, and we have an orange King Kong camped out in the middle of the road picking his nose, with a complex yet unnamed that makes George W. Bush look like a very well-adjusted individual.

It's time to get to work.
