With 51, we get to control the agenda in the Senate.

So they are not written in stone.
And with control of the Senate, Democrats would gain control of the legislative agenda in the Senate. It is important who is in control.

(13,862 posts)Hopefully having just buried Trump in an electoral landslide, the new POTUS would have some momentum, and the Senate should be very tight if not Dem.
So yes, those races are crucial. The next 4 years will likely set the court's direction for the next 10 years at least, maybe 20.

(10,472 posts)It won't hurt the red staters too badly, but the ones in so-called "purple" states like Kelly Ayotte in NH have to be inwardly screaming at having that jerkwhistle be the standard-bearer this fall.
