2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumDid the Democrats just send a message to Sanders?
I think they've made it clear that Sanders doesn't get to redefine terms in common usage to suit his narrative and that the supers are not going to undo the will of the voters. They're done indulging him, and his argument of winning through entitlement and threats is not going to work.

(1,674 posts)out so they are moving their chess pieces- why? Hoping it will stop Bernie voters in CA? Fools. Hill was always going to win, but Bernie deserves his voice and the final count. She still does not have the number until the SDs vote. I say take it to the convention. There is no rush, Trump has no chance of getting 30% in the GE, so what is the fanatic rush? To clear the board for Biden?

(11,785 posts)a candidate before the primaries began. To act all outraged that Bernie's trying to convince the supers that he's a better bet in the GE after they've actually had a chance to see how he's fundraising and polling against Trump compared to Hillary is self-serving bullshit.
The supers were created to "undo the will of the voters" and Hillary's been exploiting their existence for months. They were supposed to be a last bastion against the Dem party nominating a losing candidate, and with an FBI investigation lurking the background, the supers would be well-advised to do some serious thinking between now and the convention.

(68,552 posts)It has been reported anyway...maybe the President didn't like what he heard, and decided to pull the plug on the Sanders campaign...a couple of phone calls, and it is done. I for one am glad. This takes away all of Bernie's crappy arguments. If he wins, CA...why Hillary voters knew she was the presumptive nominee...if she wins...why look at that, Hillary still won, she is an awesome nominee...this has the fingerprints of our chess playing president all over it. It ends Bernies ' if I win California to the convention bullshit argument"...very clever.

(11,949 posts)Our President told Bernie how the cow eats the cabbage. He let him know that the hammer of Thor will fall on him if he defies of the will of the voters, the majority of them who have chosen Hillary. He is going to endorse Hillary this week.
Plus, I like Bernie. He knows that he has lost. More voters chose Clinton.
