These complaints about the AP calling the race? They're saying the EXACT SAME THING at Free Republic

"Superdeletes don't count until the convention." "It's a dirty trick to suppress Bernie votes." The Freepers are saying all of these things. If you're making the same argument as Freepers, shouldn't that give you some pause?

Or at least like him better than Trump or Hillary. Not the strategic voting type - they would actually vote for Bernie in November if given the chance. I also met a couple Republicans when I handed out Bernie flyers at the train station during the primary who said they disagreed with him but liked him and would rather have him than Trump.

That said, I doubt the freerepublic types are in that camp.

The fact that you don't understand how the delegates are supposed to work should give you some pause.

If it were just the AP announcement, I'd probably not think it's necessarily connected to Hillary, but the fact that 20+ supers decided to announce support for her, in unison, the night before the Cali vote, that kinda changed my mind. I think this is a party ploy, and AP is in on it.

It doesn't seem like it, which is what is weird. Have a bunch of supers actually publicly announced for her in the last 24-48 hours, or did they just answer the AP's questions?

Even if it's the latter, it could be that the supers decided to tell the AP where they stood earlier because they knew Clinton's internal polling in Cali looked bad and they wanted to minimize the impact.

Who has made an issue of "the process" at every turn? "It's rigged! The primaries are closed - they should be open! The DNC is conspiring against me!"

"And when they do talk issues they use Republican talking points.

Ever noticed how many Bernie supporters link to RW sources in order to make a anti-HRC/anti-Dem point? It's not the HRCers who are doing that, is it?

In terms of process, the myriad number of dodgy things that happened in the primaries almost always went against Sanders.

The Clinton crew on here pretty much refuse to debate on the issues. Clinton is (or was and probably will be again) absolute shite on many core issues. All they do is fling the systemic process (only the part that favours Hillary) and vote totals around like a big stick.

Yes, I know, it sucks having to support a candidate who is right centre (and neoliberal/neocon-loved) on so many issues whilst being a member of a LEFT liberal chatboard. And don't tell me that this board (and Party) are not supposed to be progressive ffs.

Hillary Clinton has clinched the Democratic nomination for US president after reaching the required number of delegates, an AP tally suggests.

The count puts Mrs Clinton on 2,383 - the number needed to make her the presumptive nominee.

She will become the first female nominee for a major US political party.

But rival Bernie Sanders said Mrs Clinton had not won as she was dependent on superdelegates who could not vote until July's party convention.
